I am 67 and have been doing photography since the 70’s. I shot Canon for about 15 years and had a backpack full of gear that was 37 pounds. I have arthritis and although Canon was top notch equipment I had to switch to something with less weight. My Fujifilm backpack is 18 pounds full and that is my main reason for using Fujifilm. I have the XT3 and I have become very fond of it. I do still miss that big clear Prism on my 5DII the most and my Canon pictures were so easy to edit straight out of camera. I didn’t spend much time editing them at all. It took me a long time to to develop a good editing technique for the Fujifilm and the files needed a lot more work. I am just getting where I am happy with my final finished work. I use Capture One. Thank you for your video and good luck with your XH2.

I love my XT2, XT3 & XH2 and every glass they make…. Nice recipe and love the colors! I left 5 FX camera bodies from Nikon and I’m now with Fuji which makes my mid century furniture shoots look amazing‼️📸🙌🏻🔥

I am new to Fuji - just got the H-2s and I'm extremely impressed with the photos I'm getting from it - the colours, the details, the images feel 'alive'. I got the kit lens with mine which is not on Fuji's lens list for the full 40mpx but I would never have known looking at the quality of the images.

Yeah I am not having any problem using third party glass on the XH2 so I think the list is more of a list of ideal lenses not the ONLY lenses ya know?

I just bought the X-H2 it's my first digital camera, and I am happy. My subjects are my 3 cats since 1 of them is dark chocolate. I'm happy with my purchase.

I hate that Fuji is forcing us to press the iso button then using the command dial to change iso. That was a terrible decision and it makes shooting manual a PITA. Fuji has to fix this ASAP!!!

Yeah I really can't understand why. I've been shooting XT3 and I'm open to going to a PASM dial thinking "Okay well front dial is ISO and back is Shutter, aperture on the lens" but to my surprise this $2500 camera can't do that....very puzzling. Pushing the ISO dial EVERYTIME you need to change it is quite frustrating, I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this.

I agree 100%! It was sooooo easy to set things a number of different ways with the XH1 and now you are forced to operate it only one way. Very disappointed.

What Fujifilm has proposed with the X-H2 and the X-H2S is an XF mount equivalent of the GFX camera system. That’s all! This is also a gateway product for non Fujifilm photographers that are more accustomed to the PASM dial. I have been a Fujifilm XF mount camera photographer since 2017. I like the retro styling. There aren’t enough of us to account for more sales of Fujifilm bodies. Fujifilm needs to court more people outside of their current customer group. I also believe that if you shoot GFX and need b-roll photos or video on the X-H2/S, wouldn’t be better if the interface was the same? I am very interested in an X-H2, but if the X-T5 has the ability to use a vertical grip then I’ll go with the that. If the X-T5, does not have vertical grip then I’ll have to go X-H2.

You can easily set your iso to the UP and Down D pad directly without having to press the top iso first. Its makes it super quick

is that "touch and drag" canon feature you mention about moving the focus point by dragging your thumb along the touchscreen? Because you can do that on Fuji cameras too.

@@caitlineye it should just be activated by default but if not go to the touch screen settings menu which is buried in the spanner icon menu. You can even chose which quadrant of the screen you want to be active (to avoid nose bumps)

This is such a good video. I'm getting weary of all the comparisons of Fugi with FF pointing out how noise increases with Fugi once you get past ISO 3200. I'm not sure what they expect. The camera can't overcome the laws of physics. But you emphasize outcome and user experience. Very refreshing.

Thanks for an honest and detailed review. You can easily set the ISO on the up and down D pad buttons without having to press the top iso button first. Its fairly easy and quick. But I agree they should also give u the option for the rear dial also.

What's the touch and drag you talk about? On my 60D when I half press to focus and keep half pressing it keeps focus as I want. Is that not working on Fuji?

On the EOS R lineup you can move your thumb over the touch screen while holding up to your eye to move your focus point. That’s what I mean by touch and drag. I wish Fuji had that. The half press does indeed work here though :)

Should I do the XT5 or the XH2? I will be doing some interview type videos, but nothing in the film realm. I will primarily be using it for photography (street photography, fun, trips…etc) I’m leaning towards XH2

Have you ever used a Fujifilm camera before? I am having a hard time adjusting to the X-H2 because I learned photography on the X-T3. So, if you have used an X-T camera before, I would say X-T5. If not, both cameras are great and better to have the video features of the X-H2 if you are only going to have one body.

Hi, just found you - and just got the XH2 as well. I'm not new to the Fuji system but am trying to figure out how to best tune the autofocus for quick moving subjects. Would love to hear your thoughts on AF settings at some point.

Hey! Congrats on the XH2! I have been having a lot of luck with continuous autofocus and eye tracking. That would be my recommendation for moving subjects. Another great option is Zone autofocus but that wont help if something’s moving fast.

Thanks so much for subscribing! The reason for the inverse on talking head shots is nothing fancy - it’s the way I see it on the screen when I’m filming so I wanted it to look that way in the video.

Hi Caitlin, have you tested the rolling shutter on video of this camera? How does it compare to the Xt4?

I upgraded from XT4 to XH2. The rolling shutter is roughly the same if you film 4k 30fps. If you want downsampled 8k to 4k, it takes more processing for the sensor and the rolling shutter becomes clearly visible. I'm sticking to 4k 30.
