Please try attaching a mic on top of that, but due to how tall I assume it is, it might be better to just record the audio internally + a seperate mic on an external recorder.

If the 24mm is a 35mm on cropped cameras (my R50) then I bought the 35mm by mistake :( I actually have a 56mm now, not a 35mm. And one which doesn’t have the bokeh of the actual RF 50mm, BUT WAIT - that RF50mm would be 80mm full-frame equivalent 😮😢

It may have come via an update, but you set your dials to run your exposure triangle however you want now. For example, I run aperature from my lens, ISO from my front dial and shutter speed from my rear dial. The dials functions can be set for any of the PASM settings, and you can also shortcut a button to be a function button that allows you to swap on the fly what your front dial does.

So the real reason for the change is because you had 2 XT-5’s that you used predominantly, correct? So if you would have created the muscle memory of the XH-2, and had multiple XH-2’s would it have been different for you?

It is so hard to decide... this is definitely a lot sharper and the color rendering is much better than the 33mm 1.4. But, its alot bigger and heavier! That makes me probably never want to take it out for traveling and streets.. so then it loses it's value🤔🙈😪

I used a pair of XT-5's for events and concerts, the build quality just isn't there for a professional environment, and I've had various freezing issues, and the hinges on the back screen eech... These are cameras with great IQ but they are definitely made for someone going on vacation, or hiking, and general hobby photography.
@stevenbamford52452 ай бұрын
I've been using a pair of XT-5's for 1 year now and I can tell you, it's not the IQ of Fujifilm it's the build quality and the firmware updates. I can't tell you how many times they have frozen during shoots, the back screen hinges are flimsy and one of mine started to wobble after 4 months, the dials are cheap, basically it's a hobby toy to take on your vacation, I can't use them with confidence. I shoot concert and events and I did want stealth and portability, but it won't be with Fujifilm.

How is the build quality? Some people say it’s a bit cheap?

I ended up with the XH2 because it felt more premium and well built. Nothing was wrong or terrible about the build quality of the XT5, but it just feels a little less premium.

I just switched from Canon to Fujifilm (literally, haven't even received my new camera yet, just sold the last of my Canon gear and ordered a T-x5 and a couple of lenses) But I am admittedly kinda nervous. I had all RF L-glass but it was pricey so it made me nervous to shoot with it and it was heavy as hell so I dreaded taking it with me. I kept thinking, I want to take pictures. I don't want to think about weight and money all the time.

You can assign one of the control dials directly to ISO, you do not need to use the labeled ISO button.

well it makes sense that a 35mm would do better with macro than a 24mm .. i am buying the lense for low light wide angle city photography and video shooting the fact that it also has a stabilizer is awesome for this price !

You acquired the Viltrox 13mm f1.4 about a year ago. In comparing it to the Viltrox 27mm f1.2, which performs better optically and is sharper for video in your opinion? Which would you prefer and why? Granted the 13mm is much wider and for a different use, but it would be interesting to hear your thoughts.
@eliaspap87084 ай бұрын
I think you would really love the newer 56mm f1.2 wr, its lighter, sharper and you won’t really miss the half a stop less light. The other main point the 56 is razor sharp at f1.2 unlike the 50mm f1.0, im not saying the 50mm is not sharp at f1.0 but there is a difference when you compare the results with the 56 wide open.
@johnnyway86675 ай бұрын
Do you prefer the 27 or 75mm Viltrox lens for portraits? And I noticed that you unboxed the fuji 18mm and 23mm lenses so I was wondering which one is more versatile for video?

Interesting. I'm a long time X-T series user (currently with an X-T4), but I'm likely going to get an X-H2 simply for the form factor. I have long fingers and like the deep grip and chunky body. Also, I learned on a PSAM style camera so I don't think it would be a problem going back to.

There is an option to confire X-H2 to have front wheel for iso and back wheel for shutter speed (or vice versa). Fuji is continuously updating their software and it is strange that this was not available on release. So, it's quite convenient when you also have lens with aperture ring.

First off, thank you for the review. I love the way you compared the 50mm to the 90mm, I wasn’t considering that lens at all, but seeing the results you got with it, gave me something to think about. That said, just a small pet peeve: Why do people hold lavaliers, especially without a pop filter? Lavs don’t provide the right dynamic range for transients, so every time you say “p” “t” “s” “k” sounds, you get wind distortion, and clipping in your audio, which is audible even through my phone speakers. This seems like something that’s become fashionable due to KZbin and Tik Tok, but you’re much better off just putting it in your shirt-which for a bulky lav like that, might not look that good, but that’s what shotgun mics are for. You could also mount a shotgun on your camera or over your head and get way better sound; it makes a huge difference, and it makes your content easier to consume. Thank you again for the review, I love the results you got out of the 50mm. It’s interesting that you seem to prefer the 90mm, though. I feel like if the 90 was f1 you’d probably just use that, fair?

Muscle memory is definitely a worthy reason to switch back to the XT's. The auto ISO can be set to the X-H2 d-pad for quicker actions, rather than hitting the top button, however in a fast paced wedding environment I do understand that you need to limit the amount of times you're looking at the cameras to change a function.

I am 67 and have been doing photography since the 70’s. I shot Canon for about 15 years and had a backpack full of gear that was 37 pounds. I have arthritis and although Canon was top notch equipment I had to switch to something with less weight. My Fujifilm backpack is 18 pounds full and that is my main reason for using Fujifilm. I have the XT3 and I have become very fond of it. I do still miss that big clear Prism on my 5DII the most and my Canon pictures were so easy to edit straight out of camera. I didn’t spend much time editing them at all. It took me a long time to to develop a good editing technique for the Fujifilm and the files needed a lot more work. I am just getting where I am happy with my final finished work. I use Capture One. Thank you for your video and good luck with your XH2.
