I'm an old guy who started watching your videos in 2019, trying to learn more about Fuji cameras and lenses. I've been shooting since I was very young, starting back in the early 1960's. I've been an avid amateur, a semi-pro, and a snap-shooter using 35mm and 2 1/4 formats until going digital in 2004. But my experiences have never been as seemingly high-level or even glamorous as your career. So experientially, there at times when your content is either above my head or just completely outside my universe. But where I feel a connection with you is when you are talking about using your tools to create your vision. You have always had quite a gift for clearly demonstrating what the tools you choose can do and how you best use them. When I switched to Fuji in 2018, I felt a very real sense of joy in operating the cameras and lenses. They really resonated with my years of shooting film. As the brand keeps innovating and pushing their APC sensor devices, I've been following a step or two behind, trying to sift through what will work best for me. In that journey, I have often sought you out for information and opinion. I am closely following the increase in pixel depth to see where that is going to lead though truth be told, my X-Pro2 and X-T3 currently do everything I need exceptionally well. But I've said all that just to make a point, Gajan. Thank you for trying to bring us along on the journey. You are still light years over my head but I sure do enjoy trying to figure out what on your path is relatable to mine.

Thanks for this Gajan. Re your comments at the end, I’d offer my point of view on your gear reviews. I find them to be unique AND experiential. By that I mean where most talk about new gear in simplistic ways, your presentation brings how one might both use and experience the new piece of equipment such that, unique to you, I typically finish your videos feeling excited to create. So please, keep it up. As someone who relies on people like you to keep me appraised of market/gear developments, I personally find your videos essential and helpful. So thanks again.

Agree with Scott. Your reviews balance technical content with personal experience. I am fighting myself with attack of GAS, wanting the latest and greatest, vs a realistic kit bag. I did just pre-order the H2 this morning, and am trying to decide which bodies and lenses to let go to easy the finances. Perhaps you could give your thoughts on how many lenses in 1 system you think makes sense. Would you have a large collection of primes + zooms, and then cherry pick whatever you want for an assignment, OR cut down to around 3 or 4 primes and similar number of zooms? Would love to hear your thoughts on the subject.

The T5 has what you were looking for. Same with me but I ended up getting the H2. Don’t care for the flippy screen on the H2 but I can’t have everything I guess.

Hey man, to your concern about the future I think spreading some knowledge and some newbies would appreciate maybe like a down to earth kinda thing that people can maybe more understand what your doing and all that and mix in the growing beautiful direction it seems like your heading in, to that end I think it would help in both cases. Of course as a fan I'd like to see the glow up, the gear reviews, the theory talk, some helpful tutorials (I know you already got the paid content thing which btw, props. Lots a things a little out of budget for me at the moment, that being one of them), and your takes on multiple spaces of photography/videography would be nice. Sorry for the rant. Regardless of all those concerns, cheers to any direction you choose to go into.

I'm worried about FLOG2 and noise. Is the X-H2S FLOG2 more noisier than the X-H2 FLOG2? If yes, then do you think the noise negates the convenience factor of having to denoise in post and therefore the X-H2 with a lower native ISO would be more practical even though it has 1 stop less on paper?

The initial launch price-tag for the H2S has already been slashed to match the new H2 by over $1000AUD - $4699AUD full retail price for the H2S was too much coin in Australia. $3399 for either. Why would you choose the XT5 over XH2 or 2s if you’re looking for high speed? XT5 will have the new sensor but will be significantly slower, there won’t be a cf express slot in the xt5 that will allow for super high speed buffer clearing. If you want speed for better buffering, the XH cameras are the ones to go with. If this isn’t good enough for you abd is considered a step down from the XH2s in your eye, the xt5 will be even more of a step down.

@@Eyeofkamau Are you a videographer. The 8k is good for amateur use, while the 6.2k video of the H2s is ideal for pro use (14-bit). Also, we don't know if the X-T5 will be slower or not have a CF Express slot. Those are assumptions at this point.

Best X-H2 preview I've seen (DP Review comes in a close second). I stayed to the end. Honestly, I didn't really understand what you were saying. Too many buzzwords for me. "Journey"... "Aspirational"... "Emotional space"... What are you trying to say?

Mmm frankly this is a bit of a confusing camera for me as I rather spend a bit more to jump to full frame with lets say a Sony a7r3 or a74 if I need better video af. The hS2 body is disappointingly big imo.

Have to agree with this, I bought the X-H2s and i'm not disappointed by the release of this, 40mp isn't the be all and end all, and I prefer the video options on the S. The S is still the best hybrid IMO.
@Eyeofkamau
@Eyeofkamau 2 жыл бұрын
Close call imo. As a hybrid shooter, I’m taking the 40mp photos with 160mp mode and 8k Pro Res video of the H2. H2s has better rolling shutter, 4k 120, Open Gate and better AF, but I don’t need any of that. Also, the XH2 has no recording limit, while the 2s does (30mins); that’s a big deal for me. Overall, my need is 1 camera that can do both greatly, not into having 1 for video and 1 for photos. H2 is that one for me. Really can’t go wrong with either though. But all of that in the H2 for $2k? Pffff, I don’t even have to think twice haha
