Jerred, I can't imagine how wonderful it must be for you to approach mid to late August with a smile!! As always, loved this video. "....I'm in a parking lot..." That was cool. Beauty just needs to be found.. Have a great week.

Oh, Charlie... it's pretty awesome. I would ALWAYS look forward to seeing the students. That was my favorite thing. But everything else? Man... it was bringing me down. The year I quit teaching, I had the absolute best group of students I ever had in my entire career. They were the kindest, smartest, sweetest, most ethical and talented group of all time. So... it's kind of cool that I can always think about that group every year with joy, but know that I'm personally having the best time of my life. I can't wait for the fall!

@@JerredZ Yeah, I just saw one of my second grade students last night and a local ice cream shop. He gave me a great big hug! This happened earlier this summer. Went to a local taco place. The little girl and I saw each other at the same moment. Her eyes got huge and she ran from her mom to me and hugged me so hard. That is one thing I always loved about being a special subject teacher. You get to know the entire school. And, since I live in the community I see kids all the time. Love it!!

Love the video. I’m curious on your thoughts about the XF 30 2.8 Macro?
@JerredZ Жыл бұрын
Hello! So, I've only used it once, and it's pretty great if you really like getting close to stuff. However, with my macro shots I'd rather be a little farther away, which is why I prefer the 80! The 30 is a better lens if you want a general walk around lens that doubles as a macro, however!

Sublime photos Jerred! Thanks again for sharing, loved these vibrant macros! Your Kermit shot is one example of why I love variable tilt rear screens for those extreme or bizarre perspectives. I think I’m 95% convinced of switching to an X-H2 from my A7iv. Curious how much post was done on these photos? I’m not afraid of post (I use ON1, Affinity, & all the Luminars), but having to tweak nearly everything coming out of the A7iv is part of why I’m looking elsewhere. Loved the colors on my Z6ii, but the Z8 is too pricey. How is the X-H2 on faster subjects (kids riding bikes, etc.)? Thanks again, I’ve enjoyed your journey! Looking at the X-H2 with Tamron 17-70 & X 70-300… followed by Sigma 56 1.4 :D.
@JerredZ Жыл бұрын
Hey - thanks for the comment! So for me, the X-H2 isn't great at fast moving kids. It's average at best, and for the price I'd expect more. This is even with the updated firmware. I can still get solid shots with the X-H2 but the hit rate is lower than something from Canon or Sony at a similar price point. As for editing - these are all mostly just quick tweaks in LR - nothing major at all. I will say that I had the A7iv for a long time and loved it - you'll get more noise on the X-H2 that will sometimes have to be denoised (compared to the A7iv) - but overall it's "fine." I would say I spent as much time editing these files as I would A7iv files... but I like the color a bit more out of the box on the Fuji.

@@JerredZ Thanks Jerred! Truly appreciate your experiences, excellent info to digest and move forward. A bit sad the AF isn’t quite there for speed… I may just rent one and see if it’s enough.

Jerred what if you add a fuji 100-400 instead of bringing the om-1 with the 100-400 panaleica
@JerredZ Жыл бұрын
I could, but with the OM-1 you get the computational goodness that expands functionality for me. BUT - you could totally do that!
