Wow - excellent video! Given the comparison, I would not spend the extra money on the XH-2S, unless I wanted a camera that does primarily video.

Thank you, glad this video help, can use the extra money to buy some lens, lenses are expensive these day too.

Fuji dropped the firmware update on 11/21. Bummer you sold your H2s before it to compare. Thanks for the video, the X-20 is a really good camera.

I wanted to sell it for a long time now, I got it at the beginning of the year hoping it can handle some of my work, coz i mainly shoot interview and instructional video for my university, I have to operate two cameras on my own so I really need it to be reliable, and I have waited for a few firmware update already I just really need the right tool for the right job, it covered the expense for my new camera and I am really happy with the new camera, video coming up with the new camera soon

Hello, first of all amazing shots! From your account you seem to have both the A6700 and XS20 and have a question. Which would you reccomend for my use case? Currently have an X-T30II, 2 TTArtisan lenses and the kit 18-55., as well as the XF 35mm F2. I really want to transition for more video and heard the AF is much better on the XS20 with AI and firmware updates, but nothing compared to the A6700. If I sell my extra gear I can get an XS20 and one Video lens, or sell all my gear and get the A6700+ 18-55 2.8 Sigma. Want a hybrid camera but focus more on Video. Very conflicted on benefits of Open Gate, AF, etc. With the XS20 essentially I'll get the same IQ as my X-T30, which is fine but definetly want to get more into video/travel filmmaking. Looking for a camera for the next few years. AF has missed quite some shots (May be user error I'm still relatively new). I like the FX30 sensor in the a6700, 4k 120, and Dual Native ISO. Fuji Colors have wowed me lately, but if I shoot in log it won't matter as much. Just need something reliable, portable, great video & photo and have narrowed it 2. I'm in the Fuji ecosystem which is making me want to stay, but the jump is tempting, let me know your input!

First of all, thank you very much. I started off with fuji, the XT30 and the kit 18-55, after using and sell a bunch of bodies and lenses... I found the 18-55 kit lens have the best autofocus, so if you want to stay in with fuji, keep that lens. XS20 with the 18-55 kit, pairing that with a fast prime for night shooting will be a good start for video and travel filmmaking, To be honest I am not finding much benefit with Open Gate because I don't shoot those instagram talking head reels or anamorphic, and cropping that for 9:16 is still cropping out a lot of footage, I like posting the 3:2 as if it is a moving photo but that's pretty much it. the biggest upgrade from the XT30II for you will be the IBIS and the battery life. for the Sony 6700, I think it is a super good value for money, in my experience s-log3 grades easier than f-log2, the AF is still a lot better than fuji, especially touch tracking, I think Sony's AF will still be ahead of the competition for the next 2-3 years. The 4k 120p can only be use in bright day light, otherwise it will be very grainy. the second base ISO will be a little noisier than you expect so don't base your decision just on this one. one more thing is I have used the 18-55 sigma at work, the f2.8 is great but at 18mm there is a big distortion, I guess it is necessary to keep the size down and large aperture. They are both good cameras, fuji's problem is the autofocus and bad firmware update like the one in xh2s, Sony's problem is the camera will remain what it is without adding any new features like other brands. I hope this help you a little bit with your decision, let me know if you have other things you wanna discuss.

@@kenyudoit Thanks for the response! Quick update: I'm still on the fence. I got great deals for each lined up. $1250 for the a6700 with a 27mm TTArtisan, and $1200 for an X-S20 and 18-55. For Fuji, I also don't have a need for Open Gate right now, but eventually I want to shoot anamorphic. Battery life will be a huge plus however, and if I eventually upgrade I can keep lenses. As for Sony, limited firmware updates, but much better AF. Weather sealing is a plus. But glass is expensive and upgrade path would mean selling my APSC lenses, or buying Full Frame right now. I also don't care for AF joystick when there's touch to track. I'm gonna feel both in hand and make a decision within a week, your insight was very helpful!

I was actually wondering if you had kept your X-S20 with all the Fuji firmware debacle going on, and got my answer! Good shots for comparison, really thought there would be more difference in the night shots.
@kenyudoit14 күн бұрын
yes i thought the night shots will have bigger difference too, but I tested, but not 100% confident to include in the video that both camera don't have a second base iso so i guess thats why the different is not as big as we thought it will be
@jeongjaepil12 күн бұрын
It's not officially listed in the s20, but 3200 is second base iso. Test it.@@kenyudoit

Can you answer if the x-s20 can withstand wet conditions & condensation from hot & warm humidity? If so, then I will choose it.
@kenyudoit9 күн бұрын
Sorry I cannot give you a definitive answer but I can tell you my experience with my copy of the xs20, I have use it in light rain, it survived, I live in Hong Kong and it is quite hot and humid in the summer and I never had condensation issue, but I cannot guarantee it will be the same for you...
@matej_sajgal9 күн бұрын
I live in Australia, quite hot as well. I use my X-S20 for vlogs, documentary work and talking heads. I haven't got any issues so far and I've been using it since the release date. Not saying it can't overheat, but in my experience it's not a real issue.

ALL Fuji cameras on X Mount have the same IQ, they always have. My XT30II was as good as my XT4, my XT4 as good as my XH2S, my XS20 as good as my XS20. The difference on fuji cameras comes down to features. The reason XH2S is much more expensive than the rest is because of stacked sensor, nothing to do with IQ. In fact... XH2S might be slightly worst than the rest because of this (though I doubt many would be able to tell in a blind test). It's simple, you either need stacked sensor benefits or you don't.
@kenyudoit12 күн бұрын
So here is my thought process, I know the fuji camera used to have the same sensor in the same generation of camera up to generation 4, therefore the same IQ, but things change in generation 5, xs20 is using the older gen 4 sensor and the xh2s is using the one and only stack sensor that have 14bit read out and the dynamic range tested by cineD show the xh2s have 13.4 stops compare to 10.8 stops of the xs20. So i got curious and made this video to see what will happen in a real world test.

I am considering buying this camera, however i have heard some people speak about an overheathing issue? Is it really that bad?
@kenyudoit13 күн бұрын
In my use case it never overheated on me, I shoot on one card only and I only shoot 100Mbps, and I shoot short clips mainly on the street so I would say overheating is not a problem for me, i guess it will be different if you use it for longer shoot in professional environment.

@ I am actually looking for my first Fuji camera, I mainly want to use it to shoot some pictures on my vacations 🙂 I’m still looking at different models, but with all these options it gets hard for me to find what I really need
@kenyudoit11 күн бұрын
@@stan6852 if u mainly want to shoot photo, every camera that Fuji is selling will take great photos, so I suggest u go to a camera store and play around with the different cameras and see which one u like base on the look and feel and price, I would recommend u getting a model with IBIS, because once u have the camera u will shoot some video, and without in body stabilisation, the video will be so shaky u will think the camera is broken. I think camera manufacturers have to wake up and see the phone’s camera r so good nowadays that intuitively user will expect the video coming out of their camera to be stable and looking great, hope this help

I thought the X-H2s was slightly sharper in the daylight shots, whereas the X-S20 was better at night. It seemed to be slightly sharper with better contrast. Weird.

I look a little more sharpness in some scenes with ths xs20, both are great cameras

@@alexisrivero6790 xm5 is basically the xs20 without IBIS, stablization is something that once you had used it before you can't go back to cameras without it, especially if you want to shot video out and about, I guess look out for deals for the xs20, it got the better grip, better battery life and a few more buttons
