The Fuji cinema zooms seems great. Are there any cinema primes that will give you the same kind of look? 3rd party cinema lenses for the X mount all seems a little bit low end. Would be cool if Fujfilm made some cinema primes, like a MK 35mm T1.5 :-)

As a filmmaker on a budget with a Fuji XT3 which cine lens can I get that are under 1000$ ? The Rokinon Cine DS line dosent offer X-mount options. Do you have any suggestion ? Would prefer a real cine lens but if I can't find any in my budget I might end up going with the Fujifilm XF16-55mm f/2.8.

I like to research so normally jump on instagram or KZbin and look up the lens itself, you get a really nice mix of how people use it across different styles / techniques and a broader impression of what it can do.

Hey Palle! Thank You for a great video! Im thinking of getting those Fujinons for my FS7... As there is no IS in them, how do they react to working handheld? I rearly use tripod in my documentary work, FS7 doesnt have any IBIS and I wonder what are Your expiriances with working on them by handgeld.
@PalleSchultz2 жыл бұрын
I never use the MK's handheld. They are too big for me. But if you have a rig with motors for zoom, focus and aperture, it's a different matter. There is no IS in them, they are purely mechanical.

great content! Do you use a handheld rig for all your filming? I have been on the fence about a ronin s or just handheld rig. I know handheld rig would limit me to certain types of shots but unless im trying to do some kind of overhead shots with a gimbal on a monopod or something I dont see why a handeld rig wouldnt suite most my needs. BUT is a handheld rig good enough with no IBIS?
@PalleSchultz5 жыл бұрын
I think it is very much a preference. I like the cinematic look of a heavy handheld rig, so I added weight to mine. But I've lately been using a ifootage monopod, with a tripod foot. It is the best rig I've had to date and will feature it soon in a video. I can quickly go from stable shots to handheld. I haven't gotten to terms with my Moza 2 yet. I don't like it. I don't like things with a mind of their own.
@TravellingAlchemist5 жыл бұрын
@@PalleSchultz Thanks for the response. My gut tells me that a weighted handheld rig would be better and more of an organic look to the work done. I know gimbals can do some cool stuff but maybe only as a tool that only sometimes is needed. I think Im going to go with the same rig you have with the single battery with the option of an extra handle if need be. Thanks mate, you have a great presence for teaching!

Hey Palle, thanks for your great videos! Are you now using only the XT-3 for shooting videos? I'm currently deciding whether to get the X-H1 or X-T3, and I was wondering if you miss the H1's IBIS at all now that you have the T3? Is there a big difference in shakiness if I were to put the X-T3 in a rig, for example, or do the X-T3's better video features make up for its lack of IBIS? Thank you!
