The only thing holding me back from getting this and going with the Sony a6600 is the video clip limit and the expense of Fujifilm lenses and the camera itself. The Sony looks fantastic, but the colors on the XT4 are so vibrant and natural and I can’t tell if that’s owed to the color grading done in editing or the camera itself. If anyone could provide some advice, I’d appreciate it.

The colors of the Fujifilm is defeneitly much better. With the Fujifilm it's easier to get grade and get good results.

Yup, I think Fujifilm may have the most gorgeous color science of any system. Even better than Canon. It absolutely smokes the Sony (one of the okay-ish/worst color science)

@@lena___ X-T5 probably not this year. But X-H2 is due in May. Probably worth waiting for. A Fujifilm tech staff told me there's a chance of ProRes raw support. The stacked sensor variant could be global shutter, or near global like the Z9.

Hey there, I absolutely loved the video but I need some help. I am getting the Fujifilm X-T4 with 16-55 f/2.8 and Sony A7iii with Sigma 28-70 f/2.8 at the same price. I shoot professional photos and now I want to get into videos so I need a camera that is good for photos and will help in making better videos, and I don't want to fall in APS-C vs full frame thing. Just need a camera that can help me get started. Thank you.
@InTechxicated_SyedAsif3 жыл бұрын
It comes down to your priorities. If you are fine with all the drawbacks I mentioned in this video, well the Fujifilm would be a great choice. but just note that with enough color grading knowledge and some extra effort, Sony a7iii could achieve some amazing results. If its for my workflow, I would go for Sony a7iii, cuz I really need to have reliable auto focus and good image stabilization. But your needs may vary. Hope this helped🙂

Hello, this is one of the most recent videos about the XT4 I found, and I was wondering if the camera was updated to the latest firmware when you shot this video, as for what I understood, the IBIS issue was improved with the update. Didn't become the best IBIS on the market, but at least they solved its behaviour when trying tiny handheld camera movements. Let me know!
@InTechxicated_SyedAsif3 жыл бұрын
I believe that it has updated. They might have improved but it's not completely gone. I would just love the Ibis to look natural that would be enough.
@HikingWithCooper2 жыл бұрын
The footage looks fine and the IBIS is pretty cool in certain circumstances. I'm trying to figure out why this costs more than a bmpcc 4k. First and foremost, this cam has no RAW video. Or even Prores. H.265 is a terrible codec to edit since it's so heavily compressed. Then there is the UI. This one is straight out of the '90s. The BM UI is so intuitive and well-organized. The touch screen is as responsive as an iphone screen. Also, the screen is huge. Of all the reviews I've watched, I haven't seen anything about bluetooth for external camera control. Nor about in-body xlr. Nor HDMI out for that matter but I'm sure it's there. Actually on a deeper dive it appears that there is no video out(?!?!) OK, the sensor size on this is larger than not only the bm 4k (by a long shot) but even the 6k (barely) so big points to the Fuji there. I'm editing a shoot with this cam next month is the only reason I'm looking at it. Not bashing the cam, just trying to figure out why this cam over a bm and to familiarize myself with its strengths and weaknesses. It seems like a legit photography camera (better than bm I would argue) but for video it seems kind of like a toy or like video capture was slapped on to boost sales a little. So I guess it boils down to: what about this cam vs a bm would be a silver lining to someone editing its video?

Thanks Daniel, I worked really hard to achieve this look and you're the first to comment on it🙏. There’s a speed control for the AF that will slow down the focus rack. Try 0 or -1.

I've tried that already. It slowed down the focus rack but the rack itself is still not smooth.
@SwitchbackGuitars3 жыл бұрын
@@InTechxicated_SyedAsif I'd like to see them improve that in firmware. It seems like it just racks at one constant speed, fast or slow. Canon and Sony seem to ramp the speed in a more natural way.

New subscriber here ~ great video. Is there a video record limit at 4K/30? And, are there any overheating problems while recording at 4K/30? Thanks!
@professionalpotato47642 жыл бұрын
4k30 zero overheating, tested back to back for 3 hours in a 30 deg C room. 4k60 overheats if shot back to back. When I was doing B-roll shots outdoors without shade, it sometimes overheats. Cools down after 5-10 mins but could be a dealbreaker if you work on set. I think ambient temperature is a key factor so depends on where you live. I am thinking of getting a Ninja V to bypass all the record limits and overheating issues.
@petreskyfilms2 жыл бұрын
@@professionalpotato4764 Hey! ...thanks for the response. Overheating and time limits were a big concern of mine, so I actually ended up going with the Lumix GH5ii. I love and hate the IBIS, handheld with movement you must turn off boost mode (this mode is to mimicking a tripod). You have EIS for more performance moving, but I don't like it for professional use. Hope this can be improved by firmware.

To me the dynamic range is a bit of a weak point. It is not that great and is beaten by every other brand pretty much, except Panasonics older micro four-thirds which has pretty much the same. Holding grip is small for a hand and those famous miraculous updates that add functionality to the camera are p nonexistent and only bug fixes. Phone image Transfer software is absolute slow garbage and asks for your internet connection just to transfer images by a Bluetooth. And those fancy good lenses are actually not that good at all but heavily corrected with softer inside the camera and if you find a third-party raw reading software and turn off all of the correction you will be pretty much horrified. You can then unknowingly say that it doesn't matter but it destroys color and the dynamic range in corners of your image and in video if you do any kind of camera tracking for any kind of professional visual effects work your softwares attempts will be absolutely destroyed with all of the artificial correction. Other than that h265 video is amazing but other smaller points would be that your rec bit rate won't make much of a difference and different options are there just to silence the stupid consumer who think that more is better even though you won't be able to see a difference even if you try with software and also keep in mind even if you choose "every individual frame video compression" method it will work extremely slow in your NLE all the same. Those are the bad points but having said that the camera is actually amazing with many good points and to this day I enjoy using it like the first day I bought it a year ago. I don't regret buying it and nothing that came out later made me doubt my purchasing decision even a little.
