Yet still they say but what about the R6 etc etc. I'm like stacked.. + everything else like 4k120 no 4k 60 crop, weather sealing. I sold my R6 for this camera, I mean there is nothing on the market at this price point that matches this spec for the price. It is truly amazing for the camera for the price. In my opinon it is the best camera out right now, in terms of practicality and room to grow and spec. 15 fps is already a lot and I wonder if we need higher values? It just takes more time selecting and editing photos. Especially if the hit rate goes up with those new generation of sensors. So the one question I can't seem to answer is: Can the XH2 buffer keep up? I know the autofocus is still better on the XH2s, but is it a significant difference? What if you only shoot 15fps mechanical, the camera and sensor can keep up and can have a 40 megapixel sensor... Seems like best of both. Don't we sometimes just focus too much on specs alone?
@DeeRosa2 жыл бұрын
Hey man - if you don’t work in an environment that needs more than 15fps then I’m sure you’re good with the XT5 or a Canon EOS R. These specs were discussed because I have to use them for my job. They were used in certain moments where I needed 30fps. I get what you’re saying but this is not the video to do that on lmao. I’m sure the XH2 can handle it but probably not at the same extended rate. If you want 40mp because you like the idea of having more resolution just say that but what you just said to me is like telling a chef “we focus on the ingredients too much” and then ask if they can make a cake without cake mix and water lmao.

I'm not a Fuji shooter but looking into the system. Thanks for the thorough review, but I don't quite understand your criticism of the rollout. Maybe you and I were looking at different sources, but it seems pretty clear to me what Fuji is doing. The X-H2S is for speed, and the X-H2 is for power/resolution. They used the word power but I prefer resolution. I thought that came across pretty clearly in their marketing. These are also both clearly hybrid cameras as the line was always meant to be. Now, tomorrow we will have the X-T5 which will be a photography-centric camera, which while missing a few features seems to improve on the X-T4 and is really only missing some of the advanced features of the X-H line. So to me they are giving pretty clear choices based on what the user is looking for (hybrid vs. stills-centric, speed vs- power/resolution). I don't see how Fuji is ignoring their fanbase or "bending the knee" to bloggers. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your gripe, is it simply in the marketing? Like were their advertisements too centered around video? Or do you think they should have changed something about the camera lineup to better appeal to their core users. From what I've read, I haven't seen many complaints about the rumors around the X-T5 for current X-T users. From the outside looking in, I think Fuji really understands their audience. They make a broad range of camera bodies that appeal to different sets of users, the vast majority of them photo-centric. Now they have two flagships that are true hybrid powerhouses, but the rest of the lines will still benefit from these advancements, whether it be the X1006 or the X-Pro 4. I wouldn't switch over the Fuji for the X-T5, for example, because I prefer a PASM dial, but I would for the X-H2 or X-H2S. So now they are bringing in some new users to the system while still keeping the current users happy. Like I said, maybe I am misreading your comments, but personally I love what Fuji is doing and it's what is really making me think hard about switching over and building a Fuji system. Thanks again for the vid and curious to hear more of your thoughts.

To me they are just using generic words to say we've improved our product. I guess you could call it under selling the achievement of their stacked sensor. Sports photography is almost as difficult as wildlife( birds in flight) photography. My question is ; what lens do you use for low light events like nighttime games ? 50-140 is a cracking lens, but much too short for sports or wildlife photography. Do you use the 200 f2 ? It’s out of budget for 99% of people, and there is no other mid priced long zooms available. I think that’s holding back a lot of photography enthusiasts. The X-H2S looks fantastic, but it’s held back by the lack of serious glass available.
@DeeRosa2 жыл бұрын
They 50-140 isn’t too short for sports; maybe for wildlife but for sports it’s not only essential but for 90% of moments it is perfect. That’s why a shot list is so important. You position yourself where you have the best chance for impactful images but even with a longer lens you can’t guarantee to get THE shot. I do use a 200 f2 or the Sigma 120-300 if I’m shooting on DSLR but both of those are not as reliable due to the focal length only being usable in areas where the most impactful action (goals, TD in end-zone, at bats, under basketball goals) isn’t happening. That’s why they only account for 10% of images and are just used if I need a specific image of a specific player or moment for a shot list. I don’t understand the gripe of serious glass - if you shoot wildlife I completely get it. But I’ve shot sports for 7 years now with Max Preps, PBR, MLB affiliates, USL, MLS and I’ve always relied on 3 focal lengths for 90% of my images and EVERY other sports photog would agree - 70-200, 24-70 & 50 equivalents. I’ve shot that with Canon, Nikon, Sony and now Fujifilm. Shooting sports on assignment is just so different because it’s hard to understand how CLOSE you are to the action and the requests for images are way different than you’d expect. So the 50-140 (70-200 equiv) is the ONE lens every sports photog NEEDS and will stay glued to one body at ALL times to be successful. The XH2s is great regardless but I think the desire for longer glass is always gonna be there for everyone with Fujifilm and hopefully Sigma or Tamron beings that. But until then I have to admit that I don’t even grab the longer telephoto lengths more than once or twice a season due to the fact that it is TOO long.
@Thehandler855 ай бұрын
Not only is the XH2s an excellent camera but it saves you a lot of money. They have some incredible fast and sharp lens. And the 3rd party lens support is off the chart. Viltrox and Sigma alone make some amazing cheap lens for this camera. I use the XH2s exclusively for video and night photography and the XT5 for all other work.

I never said the camera was a mistake. I said the marketing was a mistake. I think that’s where Fujifilm falls short - they use marketing as a chance to wow people into making purchases when most people prefer real information to help with buying decisions now. If they took the time to explain what a stacked sensor has the ability to do for you I think they would see a bigger draw.

I cannot enjoy shooting with Sony. I don't know why. A mix of ergonomics, menus, UI, sometimes weird raw files (the colors), I don't know. So I'm looking for a change of system: Canon (with adapted EF lenses), Nikon or Fuji. Panasonic isn't present in my country, at least not officially. So, I'm confused a lot. I'll wait for Nikon new cameras and I will decide then. What do you think is better for a hobbyist that want to learn more about photography? Canon, Nikon or Fuji?

haha dont hate me but I returned the XH2s for R6Mark II because I liked the colors of canon more in video, it is noisier, it is IPB H2.65 and makes logical no sense to compete against xh2s but it just looks better in my opinion. Just the regular one 🤷🏻♂️ I don’t use tracking. Never used it for Sony or Canon mirrorless and don’t use it on these. The camera is smart but it isn’t a human and doesn’t know without a doubt where you’re any to go - the tests KZbinrs do where they show tracking on subjects that are running free from obstruction are bad examples of how real like situations work. I shoot C-AF in Single Point mode and track by following the subject by just following; it allows me to jump from one to another, get unique shots thru a large number of players and also allows me to avoid the camera getting focus on someone who isn’t my main subject due to proximity. Cameras are smart - but they’re not human.

Nice review. Now that the X-T5 is announced, we know their strategy a bit better. Presumably an updated X-Pro is coming as well. They muddled the waters a bit with the X-T4 as a hybrid video camera, now they've gone back to their roots to make the X-T line the Photographer's camera, and the X-H line their high-end Hybrid do-it-all camera - after all, that IS what the H stands for. I totally get that the stacked sensor of the X-H2s is better for action shooters, be it sports or wildlife, and the deeper grip suits larger lenses. Though that is an area where Canon and Nikon are still king in long lenses.
@DeeRosa2 жыл бұрын
Yeah - they sure do have more for the lens mount in canon & Nikon but honestly I use the same focal lengths regardless so I never feel like I’m missing out. As I’ve said many times in this section I think it’s easy to ASSUME I’d want 3 or 4 different king lenses but to swap bodies and lenses means you’re missing action and long lenses don’t help when you have action at home plate, at the goal, or in an endzone. Sports is more than long focal lengths but marketing made people believe otherwise. The focal lengths Fujifilm has actually are great. I’m never wanting.
@DeeRosa2 жыл бұрын
Also I feel the need to say I’m not a Fujifilm rep and get no kickback. They aren’t the best in any regard to me. But they’re great and do the damn job. That’s all I can ask for.

@@DeeRosa Didn't think you were, but good to know, I use an X-T3 myself, and would love the new X-T5, and the X-H2/2s sounds incredible as well. But I see the latter as more videocentric, and to me they're starting to look more like all the rest, namely Canon/Nikon/Sony, so it has less appeal to me. I like the styling of the silver X-T line; I had all-black Canons in the past, the silver Fujis give me good analog Pentax vibes, and I expect Fuji's film cameras were similar..All the others are fantastic workhorse cameras too, but doesn't speak to me, The other thing that attracted me to Fuji is that they are the only ones taking APS-C seriously, with Canon it was a gateway to selling more expensive full-frame, and all the quality lenses were for full-frame, so why bother with APS-C? It's no coincidence the only lenses I have left for my Canon 80D, which doesn't see so much use now, are Sigma lenses designed for APS-C. I fall in the category of "serous enthusiast", so price and size is important to me, as is styling. Unfortunately my budget doesn't stretch to any of the new cameras ATM.

Firstly, great review, thanks! But second, if we're doing the call them out for the charger thing, then I've gotta call you out on that too. Battery chargers are one of the biggest sources of e-waste so it's also a very very good thing for the planet that they've stopped including them (regardless of motivation)-do you really not have enough USB charges yet, do you need more? Better is to call out big companies (Ahem, Apple) that refuse to join the universal use of USB-C in their products to further eliminate all the waste. That's a better drum to beat.
@DeeRosa Жыл бұрын
If you look up the revenue companies have now gained because people are buying chargers still and the fact that changing the batteries has increased e-waste at a quicker growth rate maybe this comment would have been different. It is LITERALLY less harmful to include the charger due to total footprint of e-waste, paper waste, production waste, emissions from delivery, etc.
@Dr.T-Bomb Жыл бұрын
@@DeeRosa I don't think an additional failure to make conscientious and sustainable choices (continuing to buy excess accessories and increasing waste in all parts of the consumption pipeline, as you mentioned) is a sound argument to excuse the first failure (including chargers with every product by default, when we should be working towards universal charging compatibility), but it certainly highlights the depth of the problem. You certainly don't achieve wholesale change without leading the way, and there are plenty of companies that intentionally use minimally wasteful packaging and outright encourage their users to make sustainable choices with their products and recycling-this makes a real impact in the public mind as it's essentially mass marketing for the good. I'd also highlight Canon's practice of only enabling (designing?) PD charging into their cameras as similarly egregious, forcing users to likely replace all of their chargers to allow for this capability.
