This was really interesting. Also, that guy has the perfect cast technique.

So far no one has shown such video in detail. It is very knowledgeable information which cannot be seen with naked eyes it can be seen only through slow motion, Cameraman and Engineer both are very intelligent in presentation.

I saw this concept way back in the mid 80's, and bought a set of guides similar to these that I used on an old rod have. In addition I put the two rear guided close to one another (about 4 inches appart). something that eliminated the line rotating almost completely. That rod cast further than anything else I ahve in that size.

This concept was introduced by Shakespeare in the Liberty Rod Series. The five foot ultralight had similar guides. The first three guides were similar. It did not feature the ultra small guides shown here though. This would have been around 1986 or so.

I was fascinated with the slo-mo of this vid. What I find hard to believe is that the only comment since 2013 is from some smart @$$ that is probably incapable of comprehending the importance of the info offered here. Prior to watching this vid, I was confused as to why the Ausie Fat reel did not have a huge first eyelet to collect the line coming off the Alvey's large diam spool. Just when you think you know it all......................

KZbin is full of internet experts that mostly sit on the couch making fun of people and companies who actually get off their butts and do something rather than just speculating on things. I have used this layout before and it is perfect for long ultralight rods and that is my experience with it. If anyone is interested in seeing a current project that I'm working on that closely follows this layout, but not exactly you can take a look here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppXXZnmqbtKAb7s

will this work on salt water surf casting rods and reels where we mainly use braided line and heavier lure sizes??
@goldmole16 жыл бұрын
Or with heavy surf casting rods with multipliers and mono?
@nemesisslr6 жыл бұрын
I personally would not use the small guides for heavier fishing. They have a fuji guide spacing chart for heavier gear. Surfcasting with multipliers is different too.
