I feel the same about my photography focus. One day I'm one kind of photographer, another day a different one. Really situational based. I really don't feel like I need to box myself into any one genre. As far as always carrying a camera...I do the same. I once left my camera in a shopping cart. Fortunately, the worker kept it for me. Thank goodness for honest people in this world.

I loved this chat. There are so many things I can relate to that I have in common with Scott. I always carry a camera. I'm a big fan of serendipity. My photographic subjects are varied. I don't fit into any category because I'm motivated by whatever I see that moves me at any given moment. I enjoy images that tell stories. This series of chats is going to be great fun.

Enjoyed this exchange. Serendipity is also my modus operandi. One never quite knows what to expect, which images will present themselves. Each photo walk is an adventure, even if few, or even none of the images captured are felt to be worth keeping or sharing.

Lovely interview …. 95% of what he said resonated so much with me. I am pretty new to photography, but have been told by those way way better than me, that I am blessed with my ‘eye’ … I see stuff that many don’t, I chase light (and shadows) like a moth and I see shapes and colours in unusual settings. I’m not yet masterful with my camera to catch them as I’d quite like to, but I am pleased and inspired that I am wandering in the footsteps of an exceptional ‘narrative’ photographer 😊 📷

This is my first "face-to-face" with Mr. Olson, after hearing his Frames podcast interviews for a few years. The mystery was finally revealed, and I was neither surprised nor disappointed, but happy that he looked like an old coot like me! He does a superb job interviewing, and I was glad to see he's also a writer. His varied creativity in story-telling explains why his photography isn't restricted to one genre.

I liked the relaxed, informal pace of this interview! You kept the questions geared towards real-life topics, not elevated, abstract concepts. I am an intermediate photographer, at best, and probably in the same category of Mr. Olsen, not specializing in any particular genre and preferring the serendipitous experience. I follow Alex Kilby and found your first attempt at a conversation about photography to be very similar to his channel in terms of my ability to follow along, understand, and learn! Nice work, Tomasz!

Loved this interview. Relaxed, down-to-earth, pragmatic views about Scott’s approach to his photography. The point he made about story telling and how as a writer that has informed his approach to making photographs was interesting, as was the comment about his advice to his poetry class: “a poem has to reward a first reading as well as the hundred and first reading"- thus with a photograph- the first attraction captures attention, but deeper revelations appear the more it's observed. Thoughtful, unpretentious and refreshing views in my honest opinion, not least the one encouraging us all not to be distracted by "all the noise"

Scott did a great job at answering questions from the moderator. I thoroughly enjoy his photography and ability to decipher the questions asked by someone who clearly has a difficult time formulating a question. It seemed like the moderator was trying to pin down Scott's style how and wanted specific answers to satisfy his questions. That's just my interpretation of this video. "why did you leave it in color instead of B&W" (single tree landscape picture) Ans: Because it looks better in color? I was hoping Scott would have said that but his answer was excellent either way. Thanks!

Well, I signed up with you today. I want to tell you that the content is great, but I want you to keep in mind that photography, until the virus arrived, was something perfect on KZbin, if you find something strange on many of those channels, (which have ceased to exist, many of them.) has been for that. Photography continues to be a danger for dictatorships, and we are in that process. Don't tell me you don't see it. Forgive me if you seem sincere.
