rotek bearing bolts and internal boom cables pistons latches often overlooked by inspector. Some German Cranes outriggers must have pins to.prevent movement under load. Saw a GMK flip when beam.slipped inward.

Well, a test has to start somewhere... Does the test include daily PM, inspecting cable and blocks, setting safe zones with the crane computer, setting up for travel with a dolly, setting up a jib, using a jib, and another couple dozen essential skills.

Sorry to tell you fulford but you have increased the amount of horribly unsafe operators in BC. I have been on multiple job sites and have witnessed/corrected very dangerous situations from "crane operators" who hold an unlimited tonnage mobile ticket like myself. In your other video you hit the nail on the head when describing the problem that exists with operators failing their assessment because they cannot display load control. What you should be looking for is competance first and foremost. No, a short quiz on a crane load chart does not pass as a display of competance, my 10 year old nephew could have passed thst test. I have witnessed operators who have passed your assessment that have put on cable clamps completely backwards and only clamping the live line portion of a cable BEFORE the wedge socket (no joke!!!) Another one to note was an RT crane used in duty cycle work at a precast company lifting sometimes 70, 000 lbs, the operator had no clue about reeving and parts of line requirement for increased load weights (everything gets lifted on 4 part line using 3/4" RB TYPE HOIST CABLE all the time never changes) but its okay because the crane has a 60 ton block.... This makes me upset to think of how many more cases there are like this in the province. What is really upsetting is WHEN someone gets killed by one of these incompetent operators, they will always find the operator at fault for an accident like that, but they should be pointing the finger at you fulford, you should be the ones liable for the mess of an industry that exists today.

I agree. I have literally 1000s of hours running various mobile crane ticks and now I'm forced to take this fucking test that will pretty much tell me nothing. But still I need it otherwise I can't even touch the God damn levers. Just another money grab 101 situation brought to you by WCB who in their own right are as corrupt as the day is long. Ask anyone that's had to use it. Criminals.

too easy. I never had a crane tell me what I had by pushing a button. Too easy these days. But then I guess it is safe to have these luxuries

@@RLoose9494 I would say that most could not run a friction rig. Before I retired, I was introduced to a Link-Belt with all the bs. It was actually a smooth machine but just not like a friction rig that I can feel.

Well I’m just in rolling in the program with my union and the minimum age I could see would be 19 cause you need a class 3 or class 1 to get in the mobile crane course
