Spot on about "fun to use." I have always said that the key to getting fit (and losing or) maintaining a target weight is to find something you like, and DO THAT! Live long and keep pedalling. Cheers

No doubt! Cycling is some of the best exercise! You do the same!

Look at the incline in the top right, if you're going downhill, then it will roll, if it's uphill, then you will stop. tbh there are a lot of settings that you need to look at, there's a lot of configuration possible in FulGaz to make it very realistic.

I just got my IC4 and have the free trial for fulgaz, but have found it kind of frustrating to make it realistic, the speed doesn't match my bike speed. I'm a newby at this and clearly don't know what I'm doing yet. Do have any tips you'd be willing to pass along that I could try.
@deanb613 жыл бұрын
@@joeweyer7805 A few tips, make sure you are in 'Reactive' mode in the FulGaz settings. Alter the slope settings, try 70% uphill and 25% downhill, but that really depends on the gearing of the bike you are trying to imitate. Main tip, joinn the Facebook group, I don't know much about your trainer, but there will probably be someone on there who has more info.

I don’t have an Apple Watch but I am curious about tracking my heart rate. If you use the heart rate monitor that comes with the IC4, will it at least display on the console of the bike itself while using Fulgaz? To me, I don’t know that it would matter much to have it on the screen, so if I could at least look down and see it on the bike console that would be adequate for me. Just wondering if this is possible?
@IrixGuy3 жыл бұрын
Great question! I know that you can view IC4 heart rate on the IC4's computer but when I tested using FulGaz, I was wearing my Apple Watch. My FulGaz trial expired, otherwise I'd test =(

I use the peloton app class while doing virtual bike apps. Best of both worlds.

I switched to Apple Fitness+ and love it. It’s the only app that I use for my cycling and rowing workouts now.

You could always use this alongside a basic interval timer on your phone. So follow the beeps from the timer telling you when to sprint and rest. But visually you are immersed with FulGaz.

The graphics are great but Apple Fitness+ is my go-to now for indoor cycling and indoor rowing workouts.

Does it recommend resistance levels based on where you are on the road?

I can’t remember. I use Apple Fitness+ as my lone indoor cycling app now.

I've settled on FulGaz and Trainerroad. They are both quite different. Trainerroad is structured training, it gives you a plan and an exercise for the day, which is quite specific in the power and times etc. FulGaz gives me some great rides to follow virtually and is very immersive. There are others, e.g. substitute Sufferfest for Trainerroad (I prefer trainerroad, but it's probably personal for that). Other apps could also replace FulGaz, e.g. Rouvy (again, I prefer FulGaz, Rouvy doesn't integrate with my wattbike and the videos were filmed from a car which I don't find as immersive as the FulGaz ones, shot from a bike). Then of course you also have apps like Zwift, to me that's more of an arcade game, but a lot of people like it.
@IrixGuy4 жыл бұрын
Zwift was a very well designed app but I couldn’t get past the video game feel of it. I’ve actually settled for Peloton, even though it’s just like being in a gym’s cycling class vs. being on an actual road.
@egabriel32543 жыл бұрын
Can you see your cadence in FulGaz? Or does it tell you include % so you know how to adjust your resistance for the ride?
@IrixGuy3 жыл бұрын
This was the only time that I messed with FulGaz and then I deleted the free trial. I cannot remember but the top bar on the IC4’s display shows RPMs and I’m pretty sure that RPM is the same thing as cadence.
@IrixGuy3 жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong with FulGaz but it and Zwift were not my style. I used Pelton App for a while and then switched to Apple Fitness+ because I can use both my Schwinn IC4 and Stamina Rower with Apple Fitness+

Looks great, but stopping and the app doesn't stop is a show stopper for me, thanks for showing.

The video quality of FulGaz is definitely great but it’s definitely not a 100% realistic cycling experience. I use Apple Fitness+ now and love it! It’s like being in a cycling class at the gym vs. riding a bike on the road though.

Looks like that is more for more the Wahoo kickr on a real bike for indoors than a exercise bike.
@IrixGuy3 жыл бұрын
I agree! That would be a lot more expensive but would make FulGaz more engaging.
@gogsie593 жыл бұрын
Fulgaz is best used with a smart trainer and it sends the resistance to the trainer as per the route. Bingo, realistic cycling.

Problem with Fulgaz is there’s no incentive like Rouvy career or Zwift leveling.
