Awe would turn to fear. Fear to resentment. And resentment to resistance. He has seen the same story, repeated ad nauseam, on a dozen worlds. Fulgrim had always preferred love to fear. Love was stronger. Fear could be conquered, but love - never. It waned and swelled, but it never truly faded. He had made himself loved on Chemos. And he would do the same here. The primarch sank to one knee and reached down to help Telmar's victim to his feet. The man stared at him with mingled fright and awe, his mouth working soundlessly. Fulgrim smiled and stood. _'I came from nothing.'_ he said, fixing his sons with a steady gaze. _'I scrabbled in the quarry pits, and down in the deepest mines, carrying buckets on my shoulder because the ascender blew a gasket. I broke my fingernails on raw ore, and grew blisters from heat and labour. You look down on them, blind to the beauty of their struggle. Blind to what they might become, if only someone would scrape the filth from their faces.'_ He reached down and lifted a child onto his shoulders. The girl laughed and clapped, unafraid of the giant, even as her mother wept. Fulgrim indicated the crowd. His voice had driven many of them to their knees. _'Look at them, my sons. You are the highest, and they, the lowest. It is your duty to raise them up, as high as they will go. Anything less is not worthy of you.'_

I love how the abstract conceptual true form of fulgrim in the warp once the clone was made said "WOOOOOOO" and jumped straight into the new uncorrupted avatar lmao.

That's how I see it, the primarchs have souls/warp concepts that can be corrupted (Mortarion, Angron, Magnus) or destroyed (Horus). So technically the new body is a clone, but the "Fulgrim-ness" is the original soul, because as I see it, Fulgrim was possessed by the Laer Blade rather than his essence being corrupted. Perhaps, when it is time for the Emperor's Children to get their codex and time to shine, Daemon Fulgrim and Clone body Fulgrim can fight over the Primarch soul that Fulgrim is, I think that would make for a very compelling story!

Extremely underrated Primarch, who is always belittled. I genuinely believe before he found the blade, he was the best Primarch. He likely was on the level of Vulcan regarding kindness, he could give speeches like the emperor himself, he was a great friend, a great warrior, a master craftsman and a true beacon of hope in a universe swallowed by war. He gives me Arthas Vibes and I strongly believe he is still locked away inside the daemon, trying to escape it's clutches

Fulgrim's fall is so tragic. Not only because of the loss of a brother and son, but a loss to all of humanity. Fulgrim may just have been the brightest star out of all of his sons (with the exception of Horus before his fall), he just didn't have the opportunity to catch up to his brothers. Chaotic circumstances had beeen subtley manipulating him from the beginning. His capsule, name, wounded pride at a diminished legion, and a burning need to prove himself that came from it; all of these things were (in my mind) intentional tampering with the upbringing of what could have been the greatest of the primarchs. And Chaos took that bright star and tainted it. Made the best turn into the worst.

Hence why Chaos always wins. Goodness and kindness always crumbles to dust in the face of violence and domination. It is a waste of time to be kind. The only thing that matters, is power and who’s left standing to wield that power.

@@thelouster5815 I disagree. While it's true that some only respond to power, and those who wield it, it is the choices of those who wield that power that shapes the world around them. It's *easy* to be cruel. It's tough to be kind. Only those of true strength have the ability to be gentle. To recognize power and have the discipline to control it and not have it control you. And you may find it naive but much like the warp, our words and actions ripple out. If we were able to see that we have more control than we have been led to believe, then we can change the world for the better. Master yourself and you master the Warp and all those who live in it. I'm not saying it's a crime to defend yourself and others, but don't let rage or fear guide your actions. If you must fight, then fight for the right reasons. If you wish to enjoy a moment, then do so, but *never* sacrifice your dignity in search of something greater for only in reckless indulgence will you find oblivion unending.

Which made each excel at fighting certain Primarchs, and losing to other ones. -That or it depends on who the writer favors in the encounter.

All of the primarchs are gods in flesh, mythical heroes in there own way. And all of them possess a name that is there nature. Some did not find there true name,while some were so powerful and known that they never needed one. The true name of the phenocian is the name the emporor originaly intended,for fulgrim was a pheonix in more then metaphor. It was literal. And the totality of this reality was made praxis in realspace for the briefest of moments. But to a creature of slannesh,it was suffering of the worst kind. Fire that burned so hot,even the soul becomes ash,then the ash becomes nothing. The daemon prince was dead, his body was dead,his soul was dead, and his corpse would die as well. Guiliman and the lion felt this scream of defiance across the galaxy,the roar of a true name. The scream of a pheonix reborn. Guiliman felt conflicted,but also relieved. The lion was relieved,but always weary. Fulgrim the pheonician has died. The primarch who remains,is the being his father had always wanted him to be. A fire aganst the dark. The renewer. The Pheonix.
