Half of what he’s saying is right, and the other half has nuance before it. The older generation has reaped there own fruits with the fruit of the wives wombs. Their children are a result of themselves and their decision to live in Darul Kufr. At the same time I understand that living back home in impoverished conditions is hard. Nonetheless living amongst mushrikeen was the higher of the two evils not the lesser. They exposed their own children to fitna and their children lost the battle. Allah told us we would be purged of evil through Fitan. We expected this, but our parents threw us into fire and expected us to figure it out ourselves with no guidance. You are a tad bit too harsh on the youth. You should be more harsh on their parents retrospectively. But I understand the harshness on the youth. A Shepard must use the stick on a young goat if he’s disobedient for his own good lest he becomes old and stuck in his own ways. But you have to let the youth know that it’s tough love not verbal assault. Young people don’t understand nuance, they hear and disobey… if they don’t understand and can’t relate. Be a little more uplifting akhi ayman. Encourage them a little more than beating them with words. This is balance. And if you are on a scale , and 5 sentences of reprimanding will weigh 3000 lbs, and 10 sentences of encouragement will weigh 3000 lbs, both will equal out regardless of the effort in speaking. But an imam has to judge the situation for himself and make distinction himself.
