That last half minute was NOT lipped. It does not sound like the studio version, or from any other concert I've heard her sing. Ever. Which means it's either live, or prerecorded like the night of or something like that. Which means she can DEFINITELY sing like that.

Guys listen: The morocco one was completely live. It couldnt have been lipped cuz she had audio problems there and it was obv when she lipped. I think that ending from morocco was recorded and here she lipped it, I mean that's the only way. Both concerts are great anyways ! Way to go mimi cant wait for the album!

Yeah it is a new pre recording & its the SAME one from Morocco.They play w/ it or maybe just w/ the volume a tad I guess depending on the performance.I think maybe she also adds her own voice to certain parts or maybe even sings with it. She DEFINITELY CAN SING like that now but its such a complicated run that I THINK it's just better for her vocal chords to keep singing this new pre- recorded version. I personally don't care that its pre recorded. I'm just happy she recorded a new version.

For the record, & i'm commenting before even watching the video, it doesn't bother me when people accuse MC of lipping..she does SUMTIMES. It only bothers me when ppl claim she lips as to "lie" when really she only lips as a method to "preserve" her voice...which is VERY intelligent. Bcuz if Whitney (Lord bless her soul) had used this METHOD, she would have had a MUCH stronger & less-exhausted voice, regardless of her age. 10 yrs from now, you won't wonder how MC can still belt C5s,LIVE that is.

listen,yes.honestly. she had some pre recorded vocals and voice overs. but it doesn't mean she lips it all.and stop comparing this ending to the morocco performance.yes they very close but if you listened to the pre recorded vocals she had in the morocco concert you would have noticed a volume change and could tell it was pre recorded.in the WBT performance there was no volume change at all at the end.She puts tons emo in both.we all know she not good at lipping. Pretty much. I would say that the climax in WBT is vocally more difficult than I Will Always Love You by Whitney. I think this because WBT utilises more range and the mere fact, that it is just consecutive belting (one after the other) which ends on a C5 that requires to be at least 8 seconds for it to sound musically correct. I would say that there is no song in pop that comes to the sheer difficulty of WBT. It's known that no amateur singer should cover this song or any Mariah song in fact.

yes but the morocco one was filmed properly with the sound coming straight from the microphone, whereas this is an amateur film, so the lack in volume change isn't relevant. the fact that even tho she is belting and the microphone is so close to her mouth points to the fact that she is lip-syncing the last part

I honestly think she got her vocal chords worked on. She had nodules all her life and I think they finally started doing damage, so she got them removed. And the reason why her voice is not really on point is cause she is getting used to her new voice, and probably has to practice so her voice is better again. just a thought.

the last chorus of WBT live performances during 2005 until 2011 was obviously lipped because the last note was fade out instead of cutting it off. she rerecorded that part to make it more recent and this time they have to cut the last note off to make it more naturally live sounding like her 2005 BET blueprint performance which is the only 100% live version of WBT.

I might not have a degree, but I had to study the music of Mariah and Whitney for my finals years of High School. Volume change is irrelevant to the art of lip syncing, it's about the complexity of the melody and being able to pull it off. Mariah cannot do that anymore. Mariah Carey is perhaps my favourite singer of all time, but there's a fine line I draw between being naive and realistic. She's clearly lip-syncing a pre-recording and for good reason as her voice is in decline.

Faith is hard to achieve when her voice has clearly declined. It's virtually impossible to sing the final chorus and the only time she has pulled it off was during the BET Blueprint performance. As a trained musician, I can tell you the final chorus is almost impossible to sing and this is evident by the fact that there is not a single cover on youtube that does it properly. She's brilliant and she has truly imparted the world with a gift. Though, her voice, I must say has dramatically improved.
