It would be cool to see how a super specialized player would do in a full career sim, like a player with maxed out shooting power, accuracy and offensive awareness but with like 36 skating, passing, strength, etc. Basically does 1 thing great but cannot do other stuff at all.

Does this actually work in NHL? I’m kinda curious. I know modern Madden games are notoriously bad for this (Lamar Jackson doesn’t rack up much in the way of running yards during a sim, for example).

I actually did this on NHL21 and the overall stays ridiculously low but if you manually make sure he's in the lineup every game, he gets like 50 goals every year.

Video idea; Do a checkerboard pattern of 99 and 36 overall First and third line centres make 99 with 36 on their wing and second and fourth make the centre’s 36 with the 99s on their wings For defence have a 99 and a 36 on each pair For goalies make the starter 99 and the backup 36!

99 overall in a video game, still retires 1000pts shy of Gretzky. Man it was incredible to be able to watch him in his prime. Although Dangles does obliterate the all-time goals mark :)

I think this would be a cool video idea.. Have you/anyone tried making a REALLY low overall skater (like say 0-20 ovr) but say, high franchise potential…. See how high his ovr gets to and how the player progresses?
