When I was driving a rig, I was always concerned about this kind of situation. My trailer was 13' 6" and a 14' bridge was getting a bit close for me, especially since the maintenance people might have applied several inches of asphalt while patching or repaving the road and might not have changed the signs. Some drivers don't pay attention.

I expect the remedy is to let out how much air pressure from each tire .

Yep, buying a set of new tires would be cheaper and quicker than a complicated tow job for sure.

That's why I never have a bad thing to say about VDOT. They are insanely prepared and efficient.
