Full Autophage Robot Storyline | No Man's Sky Echoes Update

Make sure you have the 3 required missions completed so this new content will start!! The missions required are: Artemis Path - This is considered the "Main" questline. Finish this up to "The Purge" which is basically the end of the main story. Trace of Metal - This is a quest line connected to the Settlements. Work on your settlement and you will eventually be attacked by sentinels. Then the Trace of Metal quest begins. On Switch this mission is changed to not include settlements. You will get a random call for help and the quest will begin after that. Visit and Unlock a Harmonic Camp - Just visit any Harmonic Camp in a Dissonance System and unlock it. Once you unlock the camp and get the Aeron Jetpack then this step is finished. After completing those 3 missions, you will need to warp to different systems. You will eventually run into an emergency call, that is the start of the Echoes content.

I started the Autopaghe quest after completing the Artemis Path and Trace of Metal but I didn't need to unlock a harmonic camp. As soon as I warped to a Pirate-controlled system after completing Trace of Metal, I immediately received the message in my starship to start the Autophage quest

Thanks for this. I could not figure out why it wasn't starting. I am still working on the main quest, and I haven't done the settlements cause I hate micromanaging but guess I need to do that lol. But how do you find a Harmonic camp, what does it look like so I have more of idea what to look for. Been playing NMS for a year, but I keep starting over cause, well I have a bad habit of restarting characters, this will not happen in Starfield!! :D

The atlas protocol when you teleport into space ends in 19! There is a Korvax library entry that mentions The Void Mother whispering about the 19th minute. The Void Mother knows how to survive past 16 minutes and at least to 19! Something big is coming.

SPOILERS: So it seems like Atlas isnt too fond of Korvax Prime or the Autophages because it would prove that the unoverse could live on without it. Its been resetting the universe again and again and again because of its own end, cause it feels without it, all else will also end. The mere existence of these other entities means there is some fact of this world it cannot control, that its not omnipotent or omniscient. And for a supposed god computer, that must be horrifying.

At 1:30:00 it says 16 min- . What is presenting he atlantidiuem cause the 16 min countdown in the artemis mission and theres time travel. Then echoes can be like echoes of the past.

According to the patch notes this was supposed to be dozens of hours. 1:36 to finish a story that you can't read 90% of due to not knowing the autophage language. I guess that's where they got the "dozens of hours" figure. You're supposed to learn the entire language before doing the story. This is NMS's big weakness. The vague/non exsistant story in a single player game. Unless Bethesda botches Starfield worse than Fallout 76 (or NMS when it launched) I don't see much reason to play this over Starfield anymore.

I had that problem as well. I landed with no ship to scrap. I restarted my game, but there was no ship. So, like you, I scraped a ship i had in me. Luckily; it was one i meant to scrap anyway

If you have lots and lots of money you can go to any pirate system, buy technology packets, open them to get x class modules, sell them, save the game, reload the save and repeat until you have what you need.

Wow, you're incredibly lucky! I cannot complete these quests because the game just constantly crashes when the portal loads in. Maybe one day I'll be able to complete it like you!

There's also a pretty massive bug where if you buy the autophage cosmetics with units (in the bugged terminal), it prevents you from ever earning void motes. I've done dozens of autophage camp quests and none of them give void motes in my game now because my game is bugged (and it looks like all the other station quests give 2x items in my save because the whole thing is bugged i think). hope it gets fixed soon because a lot of the new content is unplayable if you can't earn void motes (can't make staffs, or make exchanges in the working terminal)

What held me up is I had stopped after putting Artemis in a simulation...guess I felt horrible. But its AFTER that you do "Purge" Was more to do with Atlas quests than Artemis. Now I just gotta go do all the missions on a new save,, caus Im greedy and want to try ALL the new multitools.

The last expedition had players build the construct on the Anomaly and, from other videos I’ve watched of the Autophage quest line you have to interact with the construct. Do you know if the Autophage quest line will work without the construct from the expedition ?

So if you picked "New beginnings" on the purge missions. You can't finish this mission unless you fully pick to reset the system. When you go through the portal, the Atlas is not there. Just the 4 galaxy choices. Am not resetting my galaxy so am stuck on the last part of "they who return" for life now lol PS. The dam Atlas fucked up all the planets on the system am on now too. Had 2 paradise planets here and now for some magical reason they are high sentinel activity and both have acid storms. Again not trying to reset my world so i guess am fucked

It's pretty poor for this update to provide ZERO information to players. If I had not seen the trailer I would have not realised there was an update. The only thing I did notice was that all the images for my bases have been corrupted so I can't see what they are.

When I go to do a mission for them, it now states that I don't have enough standing...I'm currently level 6/9 Disruptor with the Autophage, although the Standing doesn't show up anywhere in the Logs. Is there a minimum standing to get the final blueprint mission?

I don’t know if this helps but I finished the Artemis quest line but never did the trace of metal mission and I got the new missions. Note I am on the switch, I did have trace of metal unlocked but not started and I was in the second galaxy. Hope this helps

@@Scaley_Reptile Nah, that’s just because you (the player) are an Anomaly, so you don’t show up as a living being in their scanners. It's explained later by the hijacker. My mission started in a normal ship.

It is the same for all platforms. Have you done the 3 required mission? You need to finish the Artemis / Main story ( to the end, even after the choice with Artemis ) You also must finish the Trace of Metal Mission, missions having to do with the Settlements, and finally you need to visit a Harmonic Camp on a corrupted planet and unlock it. If you are on Switch then make sure to do the Trace Of Metal mission. It was changed only on Switch to not be connected to the Settlements.

'Not bugged' My first run at doing an autophage mission my game froze, completely, Xbox and all. Played another save and......game froze again. This one i was able to restart and then quickly restore. At least for me the autophage story is bugged. I'm hoping I don't need to delete my save.

I believe you can now. Previously you could not go back but in the Beyond update ( i think ) they let you choose which galaxy you want to be in.

Try abandon mission and re-visit the Autophage if you have the option; it worked for me when the ship salvaged mission messed up.

I started the autophage mission on my main save, right after i started it, on the second step of the mission i crashed. I tried to reload, instantly crashed again. Now i've got more than 10 crashes, every time i reload my main save, it crashes. I can't play my main save anymore, very sad 😢 I dont know what to do.
