*HEY EVERYBODY!! Something I failed to mention in the video: Grand Design has a rather uncommon policy in which dealers CANNOT publish pricing for basically anything except MSRP on new/current models. So if you check the link in the description, then it will let you know where we have GD inventory in stock. But unfortunately we're forced to ask you to contact our local teams for pricing due to MFG agreements. Sorry about that. Man I'm squirming thinking about it here. _In Theory_ there are half-tons with the proper capacities to tow this RV. But man.. it's big, wide, and tall. It feels like a lot behind a half-ton. First.. you just took me down memory lane. We had a pair of Yamaha Warriors when I was growing up. I always wanted a Wolverine for a little more "off the trails" kind of use. Never got one. Perhaps one day. But now I'm older. And fatter lol :) Anyway.. to the point: Without actual specs on a vehicle I cannot normally confidently provide towing advisory. However in this case I do feel I can confidently advise against trying to tow an RV of this size/weight with a Tundra. I would love to earn your business.. but I will not do so by sacrificing your safety. Here's some extra info that got me to my feeling on that pairing: • The GVWR (aka maximum weight with full cargo) of this RV exceeds what I am finding as a Tundra max tow capacity. Even if you don't load FULL cargo you are still required to be able to handle it. • The hitch weight of this thing is really high and likely to outmuscle the payload rating of your vehicle Either one of those things would be an immediate red flag. Both is a strong "I wouldn't recommend it" I hate being the bearer of bad news but hope you can appreciate the concern here

my parents have rv'd for the last 30 years. they had a 40' Class A diesel pusher and built a lift to help my mom in with. they finally had to give it up because my Mom can't really get out of the chair. I've thought about this exact same idea - a toy hauler like this would be great to bring them with us at least once because Mom can motor in and enjoy time out camping with us and then when it's time for bed there'd be enough room to lower the bed down and use her lift to get into bed. The bathroom won't work one iota though.

@@nosaturn I agree. I can see where the door to the head would need to be modified. This trailer would be a good starting point but no way would it be ADA compliant. Point is the first manufacturer to build a quality rv marketed with disability options on an already existing product will likely have a significant sales advantage. Respectfully, W.S.

Well this is a video I can comment on, we just moved up from our beloved Imagine 2800BH to a new Momentum 25G. I looked at a lot of the competition “smaller haulers” like MPG, Stryker and a few others but none of them could hold a candle to the Momentums even with the price difference. The MPG 2700TH was nice lower cost unit but was missing so much (no generator or prep, no fuel tank, no three season doors, no rear awning, China bomb tires, no insulation to speak of, thinner floors… the list goes on) but for the price it was a bargain. The Stryker’s were better but still not the quality feel and finish of the Momentum. Once you walk those other trailers and the walk into the Momentum, you know you’ve moved up in class. As for the patio, I fully agree. Buying a toy hauler without the patio is nuts. It’s easily removable if you don’t need it for a while but it makes the rig so much bigger. The three season doors are a must though to keep the AC in, those screens just don’t work for that. It took a few years for GD to offer the three season doors but they are finally here. Don’t forget the construction of the Momentums, 1 inch floors, R40 insulation etc. No one else lists R value for walls and floor etc. There is also a screen item under the trailer usually near the back, you will find a loop welded onto the frame, the call it “MoSecure”. It’s meant to run a lock cable through it to lock up your toys! Handy item though of course you could just run a cable around the frame at the tongue. Give us a review of the 25G next Josh, you will be blown away by how much bigger the bedroom is and the better kitchen layout. Only issues are the awning does not cover the outdoor kitchen (huge fail there GD) and the front rain gutter pours rain water right onto the front 120v outlet!!! Oops. Still we prefer it’s layout (28G has a similar layout but still prefer the 25G).

I am a Midwestern Gal (Northeast Ohio) but my other half is a PNW Gal so our camp style is a blend of the 2. 50% campgrounds and 50% of the beaten path - damn Oregonian has me always exploring the logging roads when we're out there...I am tired of tent camping out there and think we need a off road trailer.

This unit was 3rd on top 5. My dirt bikes are going in the truck bed or the hauler. Either way, I'm stuck with the weight. I seem to recall the option of glass patio doors but maybe thats only an option when you have the patio - which I think is make sense with a toy hauler. In the end, I'm still good with my decision on the Ember 190 due to its smaller foot print. 21G is really nice though. Wish they offered something similar but 2-3 feet shorter as I only need to accommodate 3 dirt bikes and not and SXS. Thanks for another great walkthrough... and I +1 Wm Schooley note about the stats block.

I don't always comment on your videos. But, I'm giving it a shot. This is really nice for a short toy hauler. I'm glad I waited till ii was finished to comment. I was going to say that since the rear didn't make a patio, a decent bug screen to put up in that area (w/magnets) would be great. But then you showed that they included one. Just wondering, are the 2 recliners movable, so you can see the TV better? Hope so. +The bathroom is good for this size, and if you forget your towel, it's a good thing the bedroom is right there. It wouldn't be hard to put up a small cabinet/ shelf, or better yet a few command hooks strong enough for towels. Then they are already there. 😎 I'm not an very well versed on regions and 5th wheel patios, so nothing wise there. Maybe it was done to keep the weight down?? I would say that the outside area at the campsite could easily be used, given the awning & lights.

This is similar to a floor plan you featured recently that you mentioned as a potential use for a handicapped person. That particular unit had a really lovely deck on the back and to me it is kind of odd that this toy hauler doesn't make into a deck but maybe in the region of the country this is manufactured for it's too hot to use a ramp patio most of the time? I am a whole Midwestern girl so I would certainly think a patio would be useful but that's just me. I do like the bed layout with the slide and perhaps that long countertop could be useful for a CPAP or other equipment you might need for your health. Those corner shelves are cute but they might hold a glass of water or some type of chachki but other than that they don't seem too useful your phone would probably fit up there with your glass of water but I don't know how close that would be to the USB port to be able to charge your phones whereas you may have to leave the phone on that counter above the dresser drawers. It's an okay unit but not sure that it would be something I would be super interested in.

I've heard some folks who desert/dry camp a lot don't like the patios since they need the door closed for the A/C Not sure if that's the reasoning but it's the best guess I have

I really like this size toy hauler but I wouldn't haul toys. With family spread out all over the country this would be the perfect family hauler. Travel is so expensive nowadays food, motels, car rental, and flights. This could be a motel on wheels small enough to park anywhere and the generator to power all your needs when you stop for the night. Plus you won't have to try parking those 40ft land ships at uncle Bob's house.

They have done a really nice job on this unit putting a lot into a limited amount of space. The kitchen has a good amount of storage well laid out especially given it’s compact size. I agree that they should have wrapped the backsplash around. Nerd next time you talk to a manufacturer that could be a great question to ask. Why don’t any of them do that? I would make the space above the fridge a cabinet and I’d move that speaker to a box mounted above the bathroom door. My other criticism is in the bedroom. That corner hanging cabinet seems like it could be a lot more. All that vertical space in the outside storage above the door that goes up to the roof is by and large wasted. I’d be taking all that space and making it into interior bedroom storage. Like a second cabinet above the one that’s there and some shelves behind the hanging area. Yes it’s not the most convenient storage but it’s useable unlike what they have now. Re the door I’m not a toy hauler guy but aren’t the “patio” doors winched up and down by cables? They probably felt they didn’t have room for that system in this unit.
@JoshtheRVNerd2 жыл бұрын
I actually was very pleasantly surprised with the kitchen. LOT of storage there and smart use of space -- you don't often find that in haulers. Bedroom storage is without a doubt a challenge with this concept .

Possible reason for yellow wall at Idaho store. Yellow - Intensity and Memory Yellow is tricky. According to the APA, using it as a nursery or playroom color can increase moodiness in babies and young children, causing further outbursts. However, in Social Media Marketing, yellow is noted as a happy color. A better way to put it would be that yellow is an “intense” color. There’s a reason highlighters and no 2 pencils are yellow - it can stimulate the brain to remember more information. It follows that, as a highlight or accent color, yellow can do the same thing for your customers.

They should be sued if they say a half ton can pull this, with normal loads. It’s a pig! ATC has this by miles, or a custom Charmac or R and R trailer is half the weight, nicer stuff when you are all done, plus, those trailers are ZERO wood, aluminum decks.

This one was my top “dream” pick. GD does the 3 season doors on it too and is EPIC! One was on show sale in 2019 in CA for $39k …if only we knew what the market would do 😜 This is too heavy on hitch weight for us though (now I know) . I also love that they have the taller overhear cabinets and big windows. Makes a big difference!

I'd like to see a ramp patio; we've got a Rockwood Mini Lite 2205S and sometimes with we had a toy hauler for our dogs, and a ramp patio would tie in with our dog shows and travel with the dogs quite well. We do have a hard 25' length limit for storage though, so this trailer might be too long for us regardless.
@JoshtheRVNerd2 жыл бұрын
Woof. Tough limit. 25ft sound like a lot until you start seeing what it actually gets you in a camper
@VernonJettlund2 жыл бұрын
@@JoshtheRVNerd Yeah, with 2 people and an open floorplan there is plenty of room, until you add 3 dogs (even if they are Corgis) and a bird. Also, if we wanted to work while traveling, there sinply isn't enough room without sending one of us outside, which depending where we are may or may not be workable. Our original requirements were 1. Fits in driveway 2. Works well for dogshows, and our trailer does both admirably - but there isn't enough room to fit in much flexibility for other function, like having an office, having more space for the dogs during the day (patio), or even more traditional modes like sleeping guests. All of those things are possible, we just have to impliment the solutions for them outside of the trailer with exercise pens around the door side, a tent & air mattress for guests, and/or setting up an office in the truck or getting creative with camp furniture and electronics.
