Now you know why we went with this one. Its perfect for us. Pulls like a dream. This is not a half-ton unit. On the bed, you can not tell the crease is there when you sleep - its toward the feet and it works well. Hmmm.. what else.... I actually took that low-flow cooktop off the outside kitchen door (more or less worthless) - I use the Coleman Fyre Sargent (which will basically melt iron). And I will probably be removing the outside refrigerator also and either use the space for storage OR put an ice maker there. Last thing - relates to the recliners. When the whole family comes, we leave those at home. They take up a lot of space and we just bring a few of the Sam's club black folding chairs instead and the space savings are pretty legit. Another super handy thing we use is one of the folding camp loveseats along the wall with the camp-side window. The space is so flex without the chairs. When its just me, I take one of the recliners because they are pretty nice. Solar works well and that three-season door was the main selling point for me. Anyway, super excited you finally showed it! This is my baby and our family absolutely loves it!

Great video, as always. That whole line seems well thought out, and better than average quality. It has enough solar that the 12v fridge would likely be fine. Propane wise upgrading to 7 gal would be easy and inexpensive. For a while there some brands had 3x5 gal- people could use the quick exchange, and people with limited strength weren’t trying to handle full 7 gallon bottles. That adjustable table with the dove tail- brilliant. Things that would concern me (if I was looking in that type) Schwintek system on a large, heavy slide, and the aqua panel system. For people who boondock for extended time, it isn’t uncommon to fill a couple 6 gal water jugs whenever you go to town, or in Arizona the tap water is so mineralized people get drinkable water from coin operated kiosks. I’d have to make some modifications to be able to get fresh water in where it isn’t coming from a pressurized garden hose.

They don't make them anymore, but you can see YT videos for them... check out the Momentum 29GO, it has a living room instead of a garage with a full queen bed on a lift. On the front of the trailer past the kitchen and bathroom it has a sort of bunkroom. I loved the idea. The first search result on YT (from Big Truck Big RV) is the right model, the video from Matt's RV Reviews has the right name, but it's not the right model somehow (edit: I just looked, it's because Matt reviewed the 29G, not the 29GO and consistently mislabeled it as the 29GO in the title and description).

I want one! Forget being a toy hauler, it's a travel trailer with a party deck! I'd probably remove the rear lift system and build a desk on one side and mount a large TV on the opposite wall that could swing to face the front or extend out to the deck. ...though I want a lot of things I'll likely never have.

Great review and walk through Josh! I have a 2022 Momentum 25G that we have owned for approximately 2 years. I have made several improvements and added a few extras to make it our own trailer. First of all, we really do like this travel trailer. We have had several warranty items addressed, and some not addressed due to frustrations from wrestling with the dealer that is supposed to fix them. Overall, I think our major warranty items have been resolved and I'm tired of driving 60 miles one way to leave our trailer and still not get it repaired in a timely manner. I'll take care of them myself - it's a lot less stressful. I'll keep this commentary on the positive side for now since we really do like this trailer and not make it about poor service departments and lack of QA/QC. I think we've had less warranty issues than some of the horror stories I've read about. Regardless, for us it's the right size unit and serves us well. It is our 4th travel trailer in 16 years, and second toy hauler, we actually downsized to this one, so... not our first rodeo. Improvements and Additions I've made and recommend for the Momentum G-class trailers. 1. Replaced the shower curtain with a Stoett roll up shower door. Much better! shop.stoett.com/product/nautilus-shower-door/ 2. Installed Lippert 236558 RV Double Box Under Chassis Storage Unit Black for chocks, blocks, hoses, etc. Expensive, had to modify the unit to fit, but nice to have. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JMHGV6O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 3. Added a separate dining table to set up when needed and capped the holes for the one that came with the RV. I see the newer version already included this upgrade. 4. Added overhead LED lights under the bunk that goes up and down. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081M8KL38/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 5. Added dimmer switches in the bedroom to operate the lights over the bed so you can dim switch them on/off while in bed. They were too high overhead for my wife to reach. www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q4FC9CM/?coliid=I1WX42K73VCYL1&colid=1YZEAJKBAINP5&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it 6. Added small electric fireplace, built a small frame for it. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B095WR6GXP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 7. Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers - Tandem 5K Trailer Axles. www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Leaf-Spring-Suspension/Roadmaster/RM-2460-2560.html Much improved ride. 8. Victory Step Manual Fold-Down Steps for RV and Toy Hauler Patios - 4 Steps. Easy in/out for the dogs and people too. www.etrailer.com/RV-and-Camper-Steps/Lippert/LC726895.html 9. Outside RV TV Mount, attached with 3M heavy Duty double sided tape (after 7 months, still holding) htps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089BWXRGJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 10. Relocated and installed my Hensley Arrow Hitch. This is the third RV we've used it on. hensleymfg.com/products/hensley-arrow-anti-sway-trailer-hitch 11. BUNKER HILL SECURITY 115 Lumen Wall Mount Solar Security Lights, Black solar lights, one on each side, works great, motion sensor and on/off switch. Harbor Freight, mounted with 3M double sided tape. www.harborfreight.com/115-lumen-wall-mount-solar-security-light-black-56252.html?_br_psugg_q=solar+lights We've made other improvements like TV in the bedroom that we set up and store when traveling, plus some storage bins in the cabinets for organizing, rug for the main living area, etc. I hope this helps anyone that has one of these trailers or is considering one. This particular trailer has the best kitchen layout and size in my opinion. Happy camping and be safe. Don in Florida

Nice toy hauler. That backlit mirror is snazzy. The hitch weight is the death knell for towing this with a half ton. We recently replaced our half ton with one that has a max tow package that has a 1400/14000 lb rated hitch. By the time you load this up the hitch weight would exceed that. When we were looking most standard tow package hitches were in the 1100/11000 lb to 1250/12500 lb range so would not even handle the dry weight.
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын

Nice! I like the flexibility of toy haulers. Thanks for showing where the chairs can fit during road mode. I was wondering how much they would interfere with cargo. Nice they put the 3 season door in! And the awning over the patio! I think they should be standard on every one. I can't imagine how hot the black base of that patio would get. About those shelves at the head of the bed. I theory it would be a good place to park the phone, but I'm not sure they are big enough for even that, and unless you want a cord dangling and a phone landing on your head. I like my 2023 25G but... it came with some defects from the factory. The biggest ones were the water leaks that ruined 2 of my vacations! One being out in the desert for 10 days without water... Took it back to the dealer (Lazydays RV) which they said they fixed a couple of loose hot water line fittings. However the next trip out the hot water tank area had a slow leak and another camping trip without water, its back at LazyDays RV... The other things were, missing molding strips, draft brushes missing from the 3 season doors, bent lift power bed bar, FOD under the super flex rubber roof, which had to be covered with sealant... It is a comfortable TH. The reclining chairs are nice but do take up valuable garage space when in load mode. The ramp door is very heavy to open and close, I did hear that GD sells a cable assist box you can install on the ramp door. The folding bed is no big deal and is somewhat comfortable, add a foamy and you're good to go. The little corner shelves in the bed area are no problem for us. Small wardrobe closet is no problem, we make it work. Agree about the outdoor kitchen probable remove the stove and reffer and replace with ice maker and a portable camp stove of better quality. The higher storage cabinets are inconvenient but a small foldable step stool works and the extra headroom is worth it! Great rig for boondocking when you don't have water leaks! 🙂

Two things: 1) If I'm seeing this correctly, it looks like this is equipped with manual stabilizers, with a 13K capacity this should have in the least electronic stabilizers, maybe even an automatic leveling system. 2) Looking at the going price of these, you would think they would include some type of Solid Step instead of the fold outs
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
Lot of people don’t realize power stabs are often rated for less weight vs manuals. Neither is intended to shift the level plane of the ev That’s the big difference between stabilizers and levelers
@jeffnichols4988 Жыл бұрын
n addition to the stabilizer,you have to remember that toy haulers are not always parked on flat level surfaces where the fold out steps need to land. This makes the folding steps a better option in my opinion.@@JoshtheRVNerd

Two things I would do. 1. That hanging closet in the bedroom. Make it taller to use the full space. 2. The bed is not CPAP friendly. I would take the second level corner shelves and run a deeper shelf all the way across. CPAP should be fine there but power may be an issue if outlets are on the bed support. Blocking a bit of the window is fine.

I like the patio options toy haulers provide. We travel with our dogs and that back area has always looked very convenient and inviting. And toy haulers usually offer lots of space and storage in the kitchen/living area. But as a rule the furnishings are sparse and don’t look very comfortable. The bed being a foldable mattress isn’t ideal and that slide is definitely too deep for me. The cabinets and shelves are out of reach without climbing on the bed. The amenities are nice, but we’re not in need of an outside kitchen so that’s a feature we’d be paying for but wouldn’t use.

@oldengineer1519 Жыл бұрын
When we bought our GD 22MLE I shopped within about a 200 mile radius. My experience was there wasn't a big difference between the lowest price quotes I received. I suspect most of the difference I saw was the delivery fee as the low price dealers that were a bit higher were also further from Elkhart. Assuming similar low quotes my experience leads me to believe that the biggest savings of buying closer to Elkhart would be from delivery fees not so much the base trailer price. If that is enough for you to make a trip I can't say. Keep in mind RV dealers, even the big chains, are an independent lot and won't always do warranty work on trailers they did not sell. Depending upon the brand this means you might be forced to take the trailer back to where you bought it if you need warranty work. I have not had to test it but other Grand Design owners report that GD is good about letting customers use mobile technicians for warranty work with the caveat that the owner pays the travel fee. With our previous Winnebago and Palomino trailers we did not have this option nor the best dealerships. In our case we did not purchase from the local GD dealer (same one we bought our Winnebago from) they did not quote a very good price nor were we happy with their service department. They would take months to get warranty work handled and just as frequently mishandled what needed to be repaired. The dealer we bought from was not the lowest quote and is about 2 hours away but has a good service reputation. They have upheld that reputation by handling our only trip down for warranty repairs and turning them around in about 2 weeks. So another thing to consider is the if there is a quality dealer in your area it might be worth a higher price, within reason, to purchase locally.

Closer to the source means less shipping costs baked into the rv Usually owner-based travel to collect an rv runs about 1/3 of factory shipping

@@oldengineer1519 thanks for the input. I guess I really should just buy local to me. Walked through a few last weekend and they were literally falling apart and had missing hardware all over the rv so it makes sense I should stay close to a repair hub.

just put a pipe on that exhaust tip and have it go out the back short enough where your not fumming your self or long enough to have go past the porch

Near 1400lb hitch weight. I know most toy haulers are high hitch weight but dang.

They’re always extra nose heavy without cargo as well. You basically need a truck that could handle a fifth wheel for any “real” toy hauler

Nice, but buyers beware!! The Lippert Schwintek Slide System sucks!! Grand Design only gives you a one year warranty on them for a reason. After 1 year and 5 months ours is already giving us major issues. GD's response - sorry, only a one year warranty....

You better have a toy to haul if you’re willing to make the sacrifice to sit on two hard bench seats and a couple tiny euro-chairs🫤
