I love Lucy. Apart from her piano playing, she is so cute! I believe recognition needs to be given to her teacher, Daniel Bath, who has taught so many other beautiful and gifted "special needs" children and young adults. Bravo Daniel Bath!

I'm a concert violinist. I cried when I saw Lucy's hands over her teacher's. I have twin boys aged 12, one is autistic. Eric is incredibly poetic in his math, engineering, humour, chess and musical imagination. I can relate to Lucy and her mother.

When Lang Lang say its incredible and dont know what to say u know it must be really good. Technical aspects in hand and posture doesnt matter u close eyes and listen by heart. Its another level in music to create some story in few notes. One word AMAZING and unique.

I discovered Lucy only two days ago, and no matter how often I've seen this and a few other performances by her, she keeps on striking me in my heart. I suffer from Asperger myself, so I know like no one else how this disability can sometimes unlock talents that may not be possible without it, but Lucy brings all this to a whole new level. But also all credit to Daniel for having the patience and understanding to help Lucy to get even better and get the most out of herself. Because men with that kind of talent, well I found out the hard way that we got too little of those people in this world.

This is so beautiful. Why am I Crying?
@TheAcceleratorMagazine6 ай бұрын
(CAUTION:A very long and boring comment partially brought on by sadness for this young ladies' condition and the gladness/sadness of hearing her play and some concerns I cannot articulate correctly. I would just skip the rest but am not deleting it, yet. I worked hard on it. Some neurological issues in place led to it taking over an hour to type and correct mistakes. Well, biggest mistake was starting)Perhaps we cry because it IS beautiful..... I'm 70yr old redneck dude and tho there have been some terribly rough spots along the way music has helped get thru some of the recovery grey areas. I worry sometimes that these special needs children, and adults later, are paraded in front of us mere mortals for not necessarily the best reasons. Especially the blind children with other neurological problems. Do, or can, they understand what is going on. Did they learn their particular musical specialty or is it part of the "savant" neurological gifts? I'm not saying this correctly. So I will stop trying. I just hope the music they play, whether learned or just "is" brings them pleasure and escape from a world of darkness we cannot imagine or comprehend. Out of all the traumas, near death experiences, even two total death encounters, 5 cancers and so on, the most terrifying was coming up out of general anaesthesia after "routine" eye surgery not blackness, but complete and total white light blindness. In over 40yrs of law enforcement and as military contractor and medic in several countries one of my biggest fears was losing my sight. A thousand ways for it to happen yet to survive all the fighting, accidents and sickness for a doctor deliberately ignore a pre-existing condition, an eye stroke that he knew had occurred, and do surgery anyway..... Sorry. PTSD, tho not crippling, causes me to write too much or talk to people I do not know while ignoring those closest to me. I told this to just share how losing sight in only one eye was overwhelming tho balanced somewhat by the thankfulness of still having sight in the other eye. Plus I have regained a lot of vision in my eye. I worry because while I got some sight back I do not feel, i don't know, worthy? While these young folks born this way most of them, have no chance to have what most of us take for granted. I should delete this, my latest episode of writing on air, but since I doubt sincerely it will not be read i will just leave it. As to tears i find they come easier and easier. A photo, a movie, a random piece of music, me, the supposed tough warrior guy has to try to hide my old man tears. I hope to get enough strength and vision back, not for more missions fighting, but to volunteer to protect some more medical missionaries in the same countries I have fought the "evil doers". Sadly the exact same evil doers I used to travel thousands of miles to try to stop are now right here amongst us. Well, I meant to stop anyway..... Finally, as to this piece I think it would have led to tears even if I didn't see who was playing tho it no doubt made it more special. The interview female looks absolutely ridiculous by the way. rick in Tennessee.

I can relate all this too. As a teacher myself we try to give each kid an opportunity to learn no matter what kind of background they have. I have a couple with ADHD and one with Down Syndrome and not long ago another with Global Development Delay. Have been following Lucy's meteoric rise ever since the first season was aired. And it is nothing short of remarkable. And the new series just got better.

I never understood how people could look at someone like Lucy and say "she has a disability", she is obviously so much more advanced than we are so much so that we can't even begin to understand Lucy bc she is so far above us. She brings a level of art and beauty to a an ugly hate filled world and we think she is "disabled", on the contrary we are the disabled ones but we are blessed bc she is here bringing us music and she is totally disconnected from the hateful and ugly world around her.

We all face challenges in our life's. But I would dare to say almost all of ours's pail in comparison to what this girl deals with on a daily basis. Evil takes and destroys. It revels in our defeat and our suffering. But sometimes for reasons I don't try and understand, God reminds us there is beauty in everything. And surely the hand of God has touched this beautiful girl. A gift for her...and us.

Being blind can actually be an advantage with music, Ray Charles is a prime example of that. Now being def would be make it quite difficult but you can still compose in that condition as Beethoven proved.
