Guten Abend Kristina ich wollte gerne mit euch Kontakt zu haben. Ich Wohne in der Schweiz und habe ein 10.Jahrige Sohn .Er ist Autismus Diagnose hat.Und er hat grosse Talent zu Singen und Klawier Spielen.Er ist sehr begabt.Leider wie wohnen in eine kleine Stadt ich kann nicht mit in weiter Fördern.Bei uns die Musik Schule gibt keine Lehrerin wo mit in kann Arbeiten. Der Direktor sagt mit so ein Kind wird schwer zu sein.Ich habe noch eine 14 Jahre alte Mädchen sie geht Musik Schule Singt Oper Lieder und Spielt Klawier. Ich treniere mit in zu Hause. Er hat sogar ein duet Lied von Töchter 2 strofe gesungen immer zu Hause. Ohne in zu Lernen. Ich werde mich sehr Freuen wenn sie mit mir Kontakt aufnehmen nehmen. Und irgendwie helfen zu können meine Sohn weiter zu bringen zu offene Welt zu kommen. Weil ich finde jeder Talent was Gott schenkt uns muss gefördert und gepflegt. I am 87 years old and I play my piano everyday….sometimes several times a day! It is wonderful therapy, soothing and comforting. I play by ear for the most part, so if I hear a melody that I like, I will learn it and play to my heart’s content!

My grandson's best friend is a boy with Down Syndrome. They met in Jr. Kindergarten, age 4 and they are still together in high school. They walk to and from school each day and hang out on weekends. As Jason says about his buddy, "It takes him longer to learn things and to do things, but he is such a great guy. We will always be best friends." Bravo to Christina...keep up the good work!

That is such a sweet story. The son of a local Down syndrome Support Group has such a best friend and they are still best friends after all these many years. That's beautiful One thing is for sure, a person with DS will never betray you, nor stab you in the back. They are such innocent individuals and sent by God. @@vegan-mom Thank you for you reply. I am a Girl Guide leader, (Girl Scouts in the USA.). A number of years ago, we had a girl with Down Syndrome. She used to knit sweaters without using a pattern. That greatly impressed me, because my knitting abilities are pretty poor. And yes indeed, people with DS are very loyal and would never betray a friend.

Very precious. My wife worked as care assistant at a Brian Rix home in Newbury. I would visit sometimes to pick her up in the car after work. I met some of these precious kids...and adults too. Yes, I invested my whole life into helping Christina, it was the right thing to do for her. I stimulated her since birth, played classical music for her all the time. We had many therapists come to the house to work with her and when she got older, she wanted to play the piano and asked me to teach her, since I am a piano teacher, so I started to teach her how to play. But believe me, life has been an uphill battle, because so many people have excluded her, been mean and hateful, she has been left out of so many things, but I was always by her side and defended her and tried to educate others about disability, inclusion and humane behavior toward those who are different. Her success brings me great joy and tears to my eyes and God is watching over these children.

Christina, I am thrilled for you that you are able to not only play the piano so beautifully but also that you were able to play with the orchestra! When I was a little girl I had the privilege of taking piano lessons, however, was just not able to learn how to play as I just could not understand how to read music despite practicing. I had always wanted to try again to see if I could learn …you have inspired me to try again. I have been a nurse my whole life and near retirement so maybe when I retire I will have the time to devote to learning and be brave enough to try again. Thank you for being a nurse, I know it is hard work. It is not your fault if you couldn't learn to read music or learn to play the piano properly, that was definitely your teacher's fault and bad teaching. You don't have to wait until retirement to try again, just start and practice just a little bit each day and soon you will find yourself playing little songs.....but this time, go to your local Music Teachers Association or your local Colleges or Universities and seek out a qualified teacher. She did great and this is one of my fav songs. I play 2 instruments and I sing. I used to sing in a choir and I greatly miss it. I am a soprano. I play the flute and piccolo. I play "Ode to Joy" on my flute as I love this song a lot. It sounded really pretty with the piano and orchestra together. ❤️
