How terribly sad. I would think she's just out of it. This thing shows the absolute necessity for police departments to have trained mental health personnel on staff so they can deal with these kinds of issues. She's only a threat to herself. Why didn't someone try to talk her down instead of shooting less-than-lethal rounds at her, and yanking her out like a felon and throwing her to the ground. But overall, they could have handled her WAY more violently and personally I felt they did a great job considering this was a mental health crisis situation. They didn’t violently wreck her or anything. They gave her plenty of time to slow and realize she was gonna have to come to a stop. I 1000% agree that law enforcement needs to go through some extensive mental healthcare training. ABSOLUTELY!!! They too often are faced with having to deal with mental health crises to not have any training in that!!! I really hope this poor lady was okay and gets the help she needs and not jail/prison time. You could see up until they put l her in the police car that she was resisting. She obviously had issues or she wouldn't have run in the first place when they went to check on her. But it seemed like they handled her the best they could, using a policewoman to search her relatively gently at the police car before putting her in it. I admire the way they handled her.

It's always amusing to see how long it takes the CHP to take drivers off the road. In Arkansas, they are faster and more effective. California runners philosophy is never give up, keep going. The CHP would fall you to Canada it seems. LOL.
