Nice vid, you made it look a thousand times better! I think you'd love having a carding wheel from Brownell's, makes all that post-boil cleanup so much easier.

Thanks! Yeah a carding wheel is definitely on my list of items to buy.

Nice score. I cant wait to get the next couple rifles from them. I got an 1899 carcano rifle from them. cool it was around for both wws and the italio turk war. too bad it wasnt an 1895 or 6. wanted to get another carcano long rifle. I got an excellent 1942 cavalry carbine from them on sale for 139.

Sounds like good scores. Their Italian Cache Carcanos are typically in really good shape.

Dremels can get places where hands and fingers - and even brass brushes - can't. You can chuck a small rotary brass brush in the chuck of a Dremel and not only make short work of interior guide surfaces, but also remove schmutz that you can't even see. The key is not to let the rapidly spinning shank of the rotary brush contact the steel of the action. That's easily prevented by sliding a rubber or plastic tube like heat shrink tubing over the shank of the rotary brush and shrinking it to fit before clamping it in the Dremel chuck. The thin rotary bristles will reach all the way into the corners of the bolt guides and other right angle corners and scour out hardened grease and dirt that you just would never get out, mechanically, otherwise.

on these RTI gun sumtimes i take the barreled action and soak it in warm water or w/ mineral spirits then scrub it and blow it off with an air compressor.

I really enjoy your videos. The one I received from RTI was is in much worse shape than yours, however, for 199.99 , I may roll the dice again...

Its hard to find the long rifles elsewhere so worth the risk for the price IMO

T, thanks for the excellent cleaning tutorial! The lighting was killing me a bit though :) I have an RTI carbine on its way and am trying to learn all I can about these cool rifles. A question - you did not pay any attention to the rear sight. I see screws on it, so should you have removed and cleaned it as well?

Looks really decent, especially in terms of mechanical condition. It looks as though the chip the stock is what made it a B-grade, in which case, pretty good deal.
@tfusilier44
@tfusilier44 Жыл бұрын
Yeah the chip is an easy fix. I'll definitely take stock damage over a worn out bore or damaged/pitted metal.

@@jeffersonsteelflex9616 I've gotten a lot of RTI rifles, posted videos on them on my channel. So far I've been pretty fortunate. Only had two with serious issues and they exchanged them for me. One of them was the shippers fault, looked like they stabbed the box with a forklift.

Do you use the same kind of oil for the wood and metal? If not, which kind for the metal?
@tfusilier44
@tfusilier44 Жыл бұрын
I typically use ballistol on the metal and boiled linseed oil on the wood.

Love the longer video. Need to find me another project milsurp rifle. Been on a kick of making clone GWOT rifles as of late lol
@tfusilier44
@tfusilier44 Жыл бұрын
The plus about RTI rifles is they are cheap projects in a world where milsurps have gotten pretty crazy in price. The Carcanos are perfect for this, especially the Italian Cache cavalry carbines.

I have a weird question, do you know if the cocking piece of a M95 will fit onto a 88/90? It looks like it would thread fine but I don't have a M95 to test. It'd be awesome if the part was interchangeable for light primers & de-cocking.
@tfusilier44

I'm honestly not sure, I don't have a 88/90 to test it out.
