It’s similar to cultures who created religious ideas in their own favor, so opposite to the ancient very pure concept of the divine (focused on sacrifice, selflessness, & compassion). For example, like the Jews who say they’re the chosen people, and Jerusalem is the holy city of the world, or the Yoruba that say creation started at Ife, or all Abrahamic religions that have texts more in favor of the MALE gender than the female. A bunch of males wrote it, so it’ll be more in favor of their sex than the opposite sex. This is so unlike the REAL power of God, which is inclusive, and far more intriguingly complex opposed to simplistic and boring. Talk to me when you graduate pass your own personal ego.

What exactly did he say that made you proud of him? I'm a little confused; please enlighten me. This isn't about intimidation or 'polluting of minds' Rowena. The simple fact of the matter is that nature--and by extension the human species--is diverse. There will ALWAYS be people and species who NATURALLY differ from the norm. They will have different inclinations from the majority. It doesn't make them less human or less deserved of freedoms and rights to be themselves. Especially when their way of life doesn't harm any other individual. You cannot outlaw nature. Homosexuality has been with humanity for millennia. It won't go away no matter how many laws we impose. People will be born attracted to the same sex. People will be born who will eventually want to switch their sex because THEY feel that that's what is right. Laws will never change this natural occurrence. So instead of hatefully trying to repress their freedoms and criminalize their way of life, we should instead recognize this truth of the natural diversity of nature. The real mind pollution is the promotion of this idea that LGBTQ folks are criminals, nonhuman, unafrican. Seeking recognition and acceptance of a behaviour should not be equated to a right to exist which is a fundamental human right. However, what anyone chose to eat or drink in order to exist is a private individual matter, not something that should be mandated or impose on society as a whole. This is a no brainer.

Thanks for your point. The anti-queer rhetoric suggests that they are regarded as less than human even if someone doesn't say it in such clear terms. People incessantly ask for them to be killed just because of who they are and how they identify. If they were respected equally as human beings, we wouldn't be throwing about such violent sentiments towards them. Secondly, I don't think I understand the statement, "the debate is about behaviour and preferences," so kindly expand upon that when you get the chance. Thirdly, in Uganda, simply being a queer individual could mean you get legally murdered by the state. That is the law. Such a law suggests that these folks are regarded as unfit to continue life as human beings just because of how they identify, regardless of whether their existence poses any actual harm or threat to a fellow citizen. Laws, ideas and perspectives such as this one -- which sanction violence towards our fellow human beings -- are the reason why queer folks and their allies "seek recognition and acceptance" as you put it. If their existence wasn't regarded as some kind of abomination or illegality, there would be no need for them to seek any rights or recognition. That's the problem. There are laws against their existence, so they have to fight. There are so many similarities between their struggle for recognition and the black struggle for recognition which has dominated U.S. history for the past 200+ years. And the bottomline is, whether we like it or not, more people will be born this way. It's just how nature has willed it. It's high-time we just learned to accept diversity of humanity and move on. Instead of stirring up unnecessary hate, violence and wasting tons of money on a fight which can never be won. Queerness has been, is and will always be part of human existence. It's just the way it is.

The host didn't do his research, his questions weren't based on facts but unnecessary sentiments. I think he underestimated Sam George as some African lawmaker with low education who he could twist. Avoiding the question. However, minorities all over the world do suffer some form of discrimination. Therefore, every country has the right ( right or wrong in the eyes of the perciever) to enact laws that serve the majority interests. Human evolution is not uniform nor universal in linear time and place. Patience, tolerance, understanding, and compassionate dialogue are the way forward to better evolution of human consciousness. Adversarial dialogue is counterproductive. ❤.

All we need right now is thousands of Sam Georges in Africa. This guy is not only intelligent but he also knows his root, his values, norms and religion. Wow! Wisdom is not about holding some PhD or Professorship title, it's about thinking deep into both the present and the future. There are certain foods that are healthy for your body that you'll approve of whiles there are others that you wouldn't even want to see on the shelves. You pick what is good for you and you leave behind what isn't healthy for you. 1. Of course Christianity and Islamic religion work for us cos truly there's God. 2. Whether imported or not it shapens society, if not there would have been more deviant behaviours which cannot be controlled. Whether you believe in Jesus or not, whether you believe in Allah or not that's your choice to make, one needs to do more soul searching and I'm not here to preach that, however like I mentioned earlier, Christianity and Islamic religion both help one to know that the earth didn't come into existence out of an accident or an unexplainable situation. Well, religion is not just about Christianity ma'am. I also disagree with you on the fact that, the western world aside trying to bring this evil agenda into our land has on the other hand influenced Africa through fewer positive ways. But before they came, Civilization started from Africa, Egypt to be very precised where the first largest architectural work in the world is, known as " the pyramid " in Egypt, then we look at the first lettering done by the Queen Cleopatra known as " hieroglyphics " then also the preservation or embalming of corpse (Egyptian mommies) using a fabric discovered by the Egyptians known as the papyrus paper from the papyrus tree and then it goes on and on and on. All I'm trying to insinuate is , yes Africans have their values, norms and morals that's why Civilization started from Egypt which taught us a lot of cultural values EXCLUDING LGBTQI+ and when you search more history about Africa your intellectual mindset of whatever we've been trying to proof is exposed to light. We"re not interested in this LGBTQI +! Period!

@Emilie please oo, Christianity is not a European religion. Christianity effectively started on the Day of Pentecost (Acts chapter 2) Those who accepted Christ on that day included Africans. The first ever theological school was in Alexandria, Egypt; and it had many African scholars. Before the advent of the European missionary exercises in West Africa, the Coptic Church had existed in Africa for many centuries in Ethiopia, Egypt and other places in Africa. Please ooo! Christianity is NOT a white man or European religion.

How many male hair dressers are like that? 😂 Gays in Ghana even have their own public street with shops etc. Once they start to try collaborating with Western organizations to create advocacy (aka recruiting impressionable youth and others) that’s when Ghanaians said no no stop there. Ghanaians are incredibly tolerant but we will not tolerate the advocacy of lgbt and public display of parades, tabs children, teaching lgbt in schools, etc. That’s not going to work in Ghana no one wants to see that happen and it won’t.

@@nanao1726 you’re entitled to your opinion to begin with. Did you see the part that Sam told Larry to do his research and report facts rather than deceiving the world. The part that Sam asked him to explain to him the difference between convention therapy any hormonal treatment. Larry spoke like he knew what he was talking about but when asked to explain he said he had no idea because he was not a medical doctor. Very stupid, how do you ask someone 1 plus 2 and you the questioner have no idea about the answer. There are many examples I don’t have time to enumerate it all to you don’t have time for that!

So: Firstly, the people who choose to undergo hormonal treatment CHOOSE TO. It's their choice. And so it's OBVIOUS that that is not the same as being coerced into CONVERSION therapy (Not 'convention' like you said). A lot of these folks don't need conversion therapy but people who THINK they know better force these folks into these treatments which ends up damaging them even further. That's why it's regarded as a form of TORTURE by the UN. Conversion Therapy is regarded as TORTURE. Think about that. And also by your misspelling of the word, I'd say it's clear you don't know what you're talking about and you probably didn't even know what Sam George was talking about there either. I'm taking this time to type all these things under this video because I actually want to help encourage people to question this anti-lgbtq stance and investigate it a bit deeper. And also it's not "very stupid" to ask someone a question about a topic you're not an expert in, with the hopes that the interviewee will shed more light on the stance you're questioning them about. Journalists do this all the time. How many times during this pandemic have you seen doctors on news broadcasts being asked about vaccines and quarantines by journalists even though the journalist may not be versed in that topic? The whole point was for Sam George to shed more light on whatever it was that Larry was asking. But when Larry pointed out the false equivalence he was making, he, Sam George, couldn't respond convincingly and cleverly flipped the script to question Larry's expertise. By that same logic, we could question the MPs expertise on matters relating to queerness. But that's not the point. You know what, I'll stop here. But before I go, I'll just share some links that PROVE that queerness has existed in Africa for many centuries. Hopefully someone with backward views will read it and it'll wake them up. This was more of trying to push an agenda. The line of questioning was full of sentiments and lacked facts. This was suppose to be an interview but you were so grossed in your agenda that you didn't have the patience to listen to the lawmaker make his point.
