@billybob30864 ай бұрын
That is not at all true, many many examples don't want to make you appear a fool but the Greeks and Romans for example where hetero or homo sex was not how they perceived it only as the "dominant" "penetrator" and the one "submissive" regardless of male or female, however, it must be noted that the Greek homosexual relations were potentially and possibly likely pedophilic in nature with Spartans taking young men and minors as their sexual partners. The Roman concepts are similar but it must be noted some historical accounts claim homosexuality was frowned upon in a general sense, but sources vary. Many Native American cultures also had a similar concept in the "Two spirits" Belief. As far as colonialism, many countries other than the United Kingdom and British-controlled colonies had abolished laws making sodomy a crime, and the death penalty. After the Revolutionary War, it was abolished in the early United States as well starting in Pennsylvania I believe. At best nobody had care to give in the early "colonial" United States, at worst it was "Tolerated" Widely by most. It was not until the 19th century that it began being frowned upon and scrutinized again. Saying it is a holdover from the Colonial area could be seen as true from some sense I suppose as the British had a wide and broad law criminalizing Sodomy in all their states, colonies, and other lands and controlled assets. Also in an article I just read from centaur.reading.ac.uk, there are indications that British-controlled colonies that have become free states and the like do have a higher likelihood of criminalizing Sodemy. This does not mean that they somehow have this relict power over these states it is just a statistic, nothing can really say whether or not these states are doing this because of their Colonial histories or not. I will say though, that I feel as though gay rights are not a priority in the least for any country really as long as they are not being prosecuted criminalized etc. As long as people don't care, I think it is fine as long as a hate-targeted attack or crime whether in law or morality wise against these people is properly dealt with to create deterrents for others. Actually, I take back what I said, I quite enjoyed making you look like a dumbass if not for your belief then for your ignorance. EDIT: During the revolutionary war it was frowned upon by most to be homosexual and was technically still a crime punishable by death but it rarely came to that, George Washington exiled a soldier for being gay but Von Steuben one of his military assets who had a large sum of evidence for sodomy, he had no care of prosecuting, so it was likely if a man held great importance nobody had a care, there is also Alexander Hamilton and others to consider. Regardless it did not take long after the war for these things to become decriminalized and tolerated.

@@santaclaus7931 I might not care for Kenya myself, but they have their values and traditions, and their laws reflect said values. Therefore, as a *gaijin,* which is the Japanese term for "outsider," I have no say in what they do, or how they go about their business. "When in Rome..." works for me, and for you.

Ac Chebet King Gamer Gays are the true Africans. Homosexuality exists in all countries of the world, and everywhere throughout history (for instance, just look at ancient Greece), and also among plenty of different animal species. It has nothing to do with America. It’s just part of life. It’s a very African tradition, and most original hunterer and gatherers in Africa practiced bisexuality and homosexuality. As do some of our closest relatives such as the bonobos.

ROBERT OCHIENG if you don’t want to trust scientific studies about homosexuality in Africa it is your problem. Their is plenty of studies and article on the subject, go check ! You can deny homosexuality if you want but you can’t impose your mind on other people. If they are homosexuals you can’t do anything about that. It is not their choice, the only thing to do is to let them live their lives.

In Kenya, anyone can be who they want to be.We just don’t want this to be a topic of discussion.After all, private parts and whoever you sleep with should be kept private. Nobody cares about anyone‘s sexual orientation when there is poverty and corruption to be dealt with in the country. That’s a luxury problem.Anyone who is interested in talking in public about these issues can move to Europe or America.Us we are busy thinking about where the next meal is coming from😢

Tamara D WTF? Ibn Saud founded that place for Muslims and Arabs. Why bring his sons into this conversation? The King is the Custodian Of The Two Holy Shrines and Protector of the Two Noble Cites, that would be the dumbest question you could ask the King or The Crown. Ignorance loves noise, you don’t ask the King, you ask The Grand Mufti. Your head will be sent home in a box. This can never be allowed where Islam was born. Had you know this Ibn Saud would have never been in your comments.

Telling someone else to go read a book clearly you haven’t read much about yourself or have traveled to. When God intends good to come to a people, He will guide them to what’s most appropriate. So before you wish it in the KSA why don’t you look to the rock in which you were cut.
