Great results! Would you share more info about your DIY RGB laser setup? Tanks from Barcelona

Thank you! The laser setup I've made consist mainly out of a large combining cube (extracted from an old beamer) and three bare laserdiodes, bleu, red and green, each mounted in a piece of rectangular aluminium tubing for cooling. The green one is a real green laserdiode, not one who is build up with an infrared laserdiode and a cristal to halve the wavelength. This setup is visible in the video. The three separate powersupply's ar not visible. Each laser has his own lps so I can tweak the current in order to get as less mode hops as possible. I hope this info helps you. Greetings!

@@youvenkes thanks to response! Your results are really good, great holograms! I've tried to understand as much as I can about your laser setup. But is hard to know the exact lasers or powersuply you use. Now I have red laser (gas and diode) and green laser (DPSS laser). I'm looking for a good green and blue laser. And a reliable power regulaor for the diodes. Would you like to share a bit more technical details with me, amd where to find this good lasers? Thanks in advance!

@@narcisrovira5959 The lasers are, green: Osram PL520, blue Osram PL450B. The red one I had allready in my possesion, I don't know the brand. The drivers are current drivers based on a LM317. I cannot show pic's here but you can find schematic's on the web. Be sure to search for current regulation for laser diodes (with a potentionmeter to tweak the current). These are simple schematics. After building the drivers you have to tweak the current for each laser seperately to get as little modehops as possible. You can find on the web how to make modehops visible with simple means you probably have in your workshop. The combining cube comes out of an old beamer. A nice big cube, 4x4x4 cm! I hope this helps you further. Greetings!

Forgot to mention... here you can find the blue and green lasers. They also have red lasers. sites.google.com/site/dtrslasershop/home/diodes

@@youvenkeshave you tried making a hologram of a human? How can I make the human look straight at us? By facing the glass I guess ..

This is very cool! Nice to see that litiholo plate responding so nicely. I'll eventually have to do a similar setup to yours, but for now, I'm waiting for the last of the final production run of Litiholo full colour kits to come in. What was the power of each of your lasers? Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! Yes, the color reproduction is realy good. The bare laserdiodes I used are: an Osram PL 450B (blue) max rated 120mW, an Osram PL520_B1 (green) max rated 50 mW and a red one, no brand but totaly modehop free! I don't know the optical power of the red one but I guess that it lies around 30 mW. I have tweaked the current of the seperate power supplies for the green and blue laser so that there are as little modehops as possible. With the tweaked current, the optical output of the green and blue laser were lower than the max output power of course! I don't know how much lower because I did not then and do not now have a LPM in my workshop. But as you can see it isn't really critical to produce nice results. I don't know if you still own that concrete table, but that should be come in very handy considdering the long exposure time ;) Greetings and best of luck!

@@youvenkes Ah, ok. thanks for the info. Sadly, after I relocated, the 4x4 slab had to be demolished, as it was impossible to remove, without some serious hydraulic lifting machinery, and the new location is an old wooden foundation house, on blocks. Terrible, for holography. LOL I don't even have the 4x4 steel plate, as it got put on the curb, before I could rescue it. All I have left is an 18" steel plate 1/4" thick, an 18" paving stone, and some neoprene padding, for isolation. I'll be lucky if I can even do 4x5 plates. I was able to get half a dozen holos to turn out, on my mantle piece, with the Litiholo transmission hologram kit. LOL Made 3 Denizyuk, and 3 transmissions, all single beam, with a 1mW diode laser, that came with the kit. Planning on getting the 20mW red, next month. Still waiting on the Litiholo colour kit. I'll use the 18" table for that. I'm guessing your exposure time is down to around 15, to 20 seconds, with those lasers? So tempted to try my 40mW laser on the Litiholo plates, but not looking forward to fighting with a spatial filter. LOL That's assuming it even still fires. It's 28 years old, now. LOL

@@ThomasGrillo No, the exposure time was actually 2 minutes! If your 40mW laser is a hard sealed one he probably wil fire. I have a HeNe laser, with a hard sealed tube that fire ever since I bought it somewhere in the eighty's!

@@youvenkes I'm pretty sure it is hard sealed. It's a Spectra Physics laser, made in 1994. It's bloody massive, too. About 3 feet long, and built on it's own heavy, 1" thick steel plate. They actually shipped it in, chained down in an 18 wheeler, and offloaded it, with a pallet, and forklift. Craziest package I ever had delivered. LOL

@@youvenkes with having a different power output for each laser, did you have to adjust exposure length for each individually or did you expose them together for the same length of time? Great results by the way! Please share more!
