The Epic React is probably the best low weight with high cushioning shoe on the market right now. The Adidas Pureboost DPR does have a very nice cushioning , close to the UB, but it is still quite heavier then the Nike's EpicReact .

ER > UB UB gives major foot fatigue after a few hours im assuming because its too mushy, at least thats how it is for me, ER has the perfect balance and I can wear them all day no issues, cushion is so similar to boost just without being too too mushy.

the ultra boost has a pretty stiff cushion tbh, thats why you get that foot fatigue. I can stand in the iniki and eqt all day because they are so soft and mushy.

I think you should compare the Nike Epic React to Ultra Boost ST instead. I have been running in Ultra Boost ST for over a year regularly and I think it is one of the best by far. I am still waiting for my Epic React to arrive. I uses Ultra Boost for regular walking but not for running. You may want to check out the ST version as it has always been under-rated and only Hes Kicks has rated it as the best version of all the Boost.

Andrew Franke no o haven’t but nike has tested them with their top long distance runners for a long time. They all said they got 300+ some even got near 500 before they felt the need to change them out.

So in short: Nike says that Nike runners can run 300 miles with them. That's like saying my shoes are tested by my people, people I pay, and whattayouknow, it turns out fine for me. And off point, 300 miles is not a lot. That's running 10 miles for 30 days.

I have two pairs of UB and I've tried the React. What he says is pretty much spot on. UB silhouette looks better, but React is REALLY light and the cushioning is a bit firmer and not as mushy.When you run, there's more bounciness to it and I can't really describe it another way. For performance React > UB. For looks React

I use to work for adidas. And I got both the pure boost and ultra boost and was extremely impressed by how comfortable they were. At first. Especially for someone who has always had a problem finding a shoe that i could wear all day standing walking ect and not be in complete agony. At first both shoes were great. Specifically the pure boost. I liked that I was walking right on it and there was no midsole middle man in the way of my comfort. But to my surprise the shoe was comfortable after a few hours and after that I started to feel the pain I feel wearing any other shoe. For walking I would say boost is great. It feels squishy as described. But standing it feels stiff and rigid. Especially after wearing it for a few hours. I suppose nothing provides lasting comfort. But I'll try the nike n see how it stacks up. Maybe it's just my feet. Seeing as though I've tried the monarchs with the same problem even though they are claimed to be extremely comfortable. And they were until they weren't. So perhaps it's just me. But if not let me know. I'd like to know if anyone shares this feeling with boost

Is React foam a type of EVA-based foam? Just looked at the Runner’s World stats for both UB and Epic React. Surprisingly, UB midsole sits higher at 33.1mm heel and 23mm forefoot (a high heel-to-toe drop of 10.1mm). Epic React sits lower at 30.4mm heel and 22.1mm forefoot (a low drop of 8.3mm). Just by looking I thought React had a thicker midsole.

Try get your hand on Nike Vapor street flyknit, it does have react midsole. Pretty sure it doesn't have this plastic stuff you're talking about. I'd say it is more comfortable than boost in my description of comfort.

I come form Mizuno Wave Rider 18 with a hell of 1.400 kms and it was high time to replace them. After some research, I became very, very much obsessed with and absolutely convinced to get a pair of the Epic Reacts but I couldn't as they were sold out. So finally I bought the Ultra Boosts (tough decision, it was not my plan and the $180.00 was way too much) as the Epic Reacts were totally sold out in NYC in april (great success, I guess...). And (lucky me) the guys of Nike sent me for free the Epic React first of May as I won one of the challenges on their NRC app which I normally use to run. My veredict, once I’ve run on both sneakers, is that the Ultra Boost seems incredibly softer and more cushioned right at the beginning (that was my first impression), while the Epic Reacts seemed not that soft to me in terms of cushioning, specially, at the befinning but you can feel them really springy, technically, returning energy as you keep on adding miles to your training, which really helps when fatigue starts coming in. At the end, I guess I would go first for Ultra Boost but it is not an easy decision! I would say it is a toss between these two brilliant models, both absolutely top quality now in the market. I have to run a half-marathon in 3 days and believe me I have a big doubt on which sneakers to wear that day! My first idea was to take de Ultra Boosts for the half but it's the good performance and the fantastic springiness of the Nikes when running long distance that is driving me mad...

A very comfortable shoe but I have several pairs of ultra boost, gel-nimbus and the vomero and ALL are softer. It’s similar to the luner epic flynit 2 but lighter and just a little more of bounce back. I’m 6.1, 195lb. Getting the Hovr Phantom to try out next. Like your videos Seth.

Gabe Newell your lord I just got my first pair about 2 weeks ago and it’s only been about 40 miles in. Airmax give me about 500-800 before they pop and after that I was running in the lunar joints, I can’t remember how long those last me but my shins started to hurt, maybe 500 as well and adidas tubulars were comfy at first but after a quick 300, my shins were hurting too. But I can say it took about 8 miles to wear these in. I’m thinking they will last until the tire web below the boost wears off. Maybe 800?

Tried react, with my ultra Boost on the other foot, and didn’t like it. It’s kinda softer, but isn’t as squishy, and kinda stiff compared to boost. I personally prefer the combination of comfy prime knit and boost. This is coming from a team Nike guy sooo... Still like my AM 90’s
