Great video, but some info for you: When you see a number like this: 0x10e, it's NOT pronounced "zero times one zero e", the X is not multiplication eg: "times" -- it's an indication that the proceeding number is in hexadecimal (base 16)not decimal (base 10). If you really want to pronounce them, it's: "zero x, one zero e", but you can just simple say "one zero e"; the 0x prefix is very important when dealing with low value hex values (eg: 9 and lower) where it's ambiguous if it's in hex or decimal, but if the value contains any letters (eg: A-F) then it's assumed to be hexadecimal. What CPU do you have bro? That's still pretty hot, with CPUs 10300h and up if you tweak turbo ratio limits above and beyond undervolting you can drop temps an additional 10-15 degrees

In bios you can reenable secure boot, that was just used to boot into grub As for virtualization, that blocks undervolting, but the 12700h can only adjust turbo ratio limits, so you can reenable virtualization If you experience it blocking turbo ratio limits just switch it back off again

12th and 13th gen typically can't unlock undervolting itself, however considering it's a hx processor it should technically be unlocked. So it could be unlocked via this process. Provided your laptop doesn't have undervolt protection If it does then only turbo ratio limits will be unlocked. Which is still a great way to reduce temps

What CPU do you have? Sounds like 11th gen, generally it maxes out at -70 to -85 Leave it at -70. Then do a TS bench, watch what number the fid column drops to, then set turbo ratio limits to 1 less value over all cores. Temps should come down nicely then 💪

@@AymanSussy you have to disable virtualization in the bios bro, that could be blocking the undervolting But unfortunately I have bad news, I did mention in the video that this process isn't too successful with 4 digit processors followed by g1-7 The temp limits are generally set to mid 70s, which causes thermal throttling and the cooling isn't too strong You can adjust turbo ratio limits but I haven't successfully found a way to drop temps on those processors yet Sorry bro

Nah ignore that, remember you're using TS bench to first check that your undervolt is stable, then secondly to test what the temps are and by how much to adjust turbo ratio limits I can link another video that explains it better, this video is good at explaining how to unlock, but the other one is better at fine tuning

Thanks man Every CPU is a little different and needs it's own testing and benchmarking That being said 11th gen typically undervolted less than 10th gen If try between -70 to 90mv on core -60 to 80mv on cache Then turbo ratio limits probably 39, 38 or 37 over all cores

Core max between -70mv to -85mv Cache max -65mv Then adjust turbo ratio limits to 36 over all cores You should see a nice temp reduction from that. If not you can try 35 over all cores I wouldn't mess around with power limits beyond that as you can lose performance. Power limits don't reset as well. Update it am now at my cpu around - 85 core and - 60 cache om throttlestop.. Underclocked my gpu at 1550 core clock and that it my cpu temps are at 71c and 79c on gpu. With G mode one it brings down to around 60c both cpu and gpu temps and still giving me beyond 75fps on FF7 REMAKE 🤣 ON 1080P. so im happy for my end this will bring my laptop have more years to come as i bought this only 2nd hand and around 3 years from the original owner. Btw also replaced thermal paste with noctua nt h2😁

Is your CPU either 12th or 13th gen If so that means you have a microcode called undervolt protection. That was specifically rolled out to those gens to block this method It's quite a dick move by intel honestly

Hey bro, i got a core i7 1050U, and on max clock it goes upto 2.8 Ghz on FID during TSBench. Should i set its turbo limits to 28 or 27. The idle clock speed is set by speed shift eep and is 4.3 Ghz. Would my laptop be ble to run 4.3 Ghz everytime? Rest of the steps were followed and my laptop got way faster. My laptop is HP cfx 2000 i guess. The names are quite confusing sometimes.

did your updated undervolting guide with throttlestop, somehow my clockspeed/FID is limited to 30/35 when running TS Bench but otherwise it's running at 41/44 ghz when standby. Do you know where the problem is? my TPL settings in power control is 45/45 on both short and long power.

@@rion9236 I take support assist off my laptop because it can be annoying. Bsod is how you identify what settings are too much etc. it's not corrupt, it's just unstable beyond a certain point 10th gen can generally undervolt further than 11th gen. 80 is about standard for your CPU The 11800h also maxes out at about -75 to -85

Yeah dude still the same story. In fact there is a latest microcode that even blocks undervolting in some HK and HX models 🤦 This method does unlock turbo ratio limits though that can improve temps. I'd look at adjusting those before getting stuck into TPL power limits tbh. I'm upgrading soon so I'll be able to do more recent hardware related content.

So is there a possibility to live boot into Ubuntu to change the microcode for the CPU and then try unlocking undervolting. This might be a stretch, but you're the only person who I know who might be able to crack this, cause no one on reddit has hope for undervolting beyond 12th gen. Which is very similar mind you, but it's all stuff I found on Reddit myself bro. Once I have a 12th gen, which is soon I'll try something like that out. But it's not something I'd recommend other than on my machine hahaha Turbo ratio limits are more affective at reducing temps on more powerful CPUs tbh Anything above the 10300h undervolting alone doesn't fully drop temps. It's the turbo ratio limits that does the trick

I haven't got experience with nice laptops like that just yet unfortunately... However I assume the oled is 500 nits right? Maybe drop the screen brightness a bit, reduce the refresh rate and change your power profile I typically try maximize performance so I cut out any power saving features. Raw performance is better(around 30% i guess for the same money), but after watching some videos I decided to buy MSI. (Throttling in Gigabyte is so massive). I mean in GF too, but not that much, so I was looking for idea how to cool this CPU a bit more for consistent results. After 10 min in Cinebench R20 multiscore went down from 9.5k to 8k. I think i made good choice, at least I hope so. (and changed 16gb ram to 32, and added 1TB SATA for storage). So I will try your method and let you know this week. 4.4ghz boost is unreal in games. In Fortnite I see only around 4.1ghz temporary boost on P cores, and then jumping around 3-3.2ghz to 4 in boost. What boost value should i use?

It's not that it doesn't work, cos undervolting isn't disabled or locked on 11300h or 11370h, it's not possible. If you look in fivr it will say unavailable I think I replied this too you a couple of hours ago. Can't remember I've been very busy today It works on Asus tuf in general, just not the 11300h specifically irrespective of laptop brand. It is based on a different architecture I think h35 instead of h45 This process will unlock turbo ratio limits though. In some cases that's way better in reducing temps than just a straight undervolt I have a turbo ratio limit guide on my homepage under performance optimizations
