Awesome machine! That roll over action can’t be beat! Todays garbage 🗑️ is no match for this old school machine

I absolutely hate today’s washers. I often look at them when I’m at Lowe’s or somewhere that sells washers, and I can’t believe they make it to someone’s house without crumbling on the delivery truck.

@ the washers sold at Lowe’s & Home Depot are crappy. The sell Samsung & LG & Amana which use to a good one but whirlpool owns them & a few others. I currently own a set from Bosch & never once had absolutely no issues or problems. I’ve had them since 06 . Still going strong 💪. My next one would be a Speed Queen . Those are better than Samsung ect . Yes you’ll pay more but you get a better warranty. You name it . Personally I’d much prefer a vintage machine.

Amazing ingenuity, engineering, design. I would love to have been in the board room when it was proposed "Ok, hear us out: An agitator that goes up and down instead of side-to-side." 🌟

Whoever their industrial designers were.. the people who designed the look and feel of their products like the knobs, switches, panels, and the like.. were geniuses. We had a '62 Frigidaire Custom Deluxe (Cookmaster?) electric stove. As a kid, I studied its design, because it was special. Beautiful stuff, the appliances of that era.

I would love to have this GM Frigidaire washer. Grew up with two, loved them both. Best machine other than Maytag.

How did that tub full of water empty out so fast?!? Amazing!
@bryonpike23614 күн бұрын
Curious about this, too
@ethelryan2573 күн бұрын
@@bryonpike2361 It's a solid tub, so not anywhere near as much water as in the tubs with perforations and an outer tub. The water is slung out, over the tub into the outer tub (empty up until then) from where it is pumped out at the regular pace. The pump is always running on these.
@mm_xx88272 күн бұрын
One reason is the tub size is very small as compared to later machines. Not as much water to drain.

So that's why grandma said women loved to sit on the washing machine back in the day.

Beautiful machine. What happens when the rubber bellows crack fully? Can you get a NOS rubber assembly?

Still use a gm fridgeaire window ac and cook on a ge p-7 electric range.
HE Detergents should be used in this machine with its very vigorous agitation.

I have a question, considering this machine has a solid wall tub just how dry is it able to spin out the laundry? I'm assuming the 850 rpm spin speed is really necessary because the water has to first reach the wall of the tub then work it's way up to the top to get spun out. It sure looks a lot faster then 850 on the video. Also I have to say look how elegantly this machine is designed! It's beautiful. Then look at a modern machine and see how far we have regressed in machine styling. Current top loaders are just stamped steel with screen printed info around the knobs. It's about as cheap to manufacture as you can get.

We have one. Very dry. Actually, the water is spun out very early in the spin, far before it comes up to speed. Frigidaire used the fast spin speed as marketing and it also helped a lot with their slower-than-every other brand dryer design. These washers clean like nothing else, especially really filthy dirty clothes.

The overflow rinse had too much water!
@josh67155 күн бұрын
It's designed that way as it must pump out at the same time
@ethelryan2573 күн бұрын
Wrong. It's called overflow because that is how it works. Unlike the trash sold today, it actually rinsed the clothes clean.

Another design of a washing machine that should never have been discontinued. Of course the government would never allow these today.
