This is actually perfect! I was just looking through bases on the Air Force website to get an idea of which ones I might want to put on my dream sheet when I to Tech School. And Eielson was one of the ones that caught my eye.

Bro don’t come here I hope for everything you didn’t get eielson I’m here right now and trust me it is probably the worst base in the Air Force

@@MS-kl6le why do you say that. I’m researching bases snowy climate bases and this one seemed like one of the best.

It's not usually snowy, it's usually too cold to snow.

I was there in 70-71. Surprisingly the dorms don't look a lot different. Got there is late November and the snow was already 5 feet high. Most nights in six month winters got down to 30-40 below zero. Worked off base at a communication center about 25 miles away. Made the most of my stay although the weather was horrendous. Coached girls softball team, made a lot of friends but thankful to go to Shaw AFB in South Carolina for next assignment. Good luck to those heading there and those who served. It was my toughest assignment but you survive.

I was there and left in 1968. I loved it. It was great to see AK. I played drums in few bands and was on Armed Forces Radio. Had many friends.

Much love for those serving in Alaska. Live in eileson In the 80s toughest place to serve ❤️

Lived there for about a year. They put us in a log cabin so that was nice. Lots of moose. Loved it but hated it at the same time.

You get that kitchen and bathroom to yourself? Or is it shared ?

Hey is the mosquitoes still around? I didn't see my old dorm.. if it's still there, it would have probably been one of the oldest bldgs.. I was there in mid 72 and 73.. Left December 4 1973.. How cold was it when u were making this video? THX for sharing...

There is 70-71. The mosquitos were huge. Didn't know my window was cracked open the first day the mosquitos arrived. Cold ass place. Had to plug the car in at night or the battery went dead. Remember the ice fog?

Nice video. What do you do in the air force?
@Trixon8219 ай бұрын
I was at EAFB for 18 months in the late 60's. You had to plug your car in at night to keep the battery from dying. What is done now?

Love the video! Just went to Alaska recently and absolutely want to go there again, so with me shipping soon I wanted to get an idea for my picks. Is there a good amount of things to do around the base? Do you feel like the dorms are pretty good? Anyways thanks for the vid bro! :)

You can download the app 354th force support in the google play store don't know if they have it in the app store but it shows you some recreational events, what they are going to serve at the defac, and other useful things for eielson afb. During the winter time you could snow board, ski, or ride snow machines. Summer time you can fish and hunt or explore Alaska by going to denali or Anchorage.

For someone who doesn't have a driver's license, would the process be easy? Also, if you do t have a car, how are Airmen moving around the basE from the dorm to any other places?
@monasmith70313 жыл бұрын
Hey to answer your question the process isn’t bad I have a friend who didn’t and he’s doing his road test soon but you would definitely need a care out here for sure.

Hey bro what rank did you move out I’m assuming E-4 but how many months after your sewed on.
@davidambrosio58503 жыл бұрын
Well right now in eielson since there is so many many new airmen coming to the base they don't have enough room in the dorms for people to move in so they are allowing E-3 who have been there a while to move out
