Full Draw on 14yr Old Bull - (Crazy Archery Elk Kill Video)

Zack made the decision to sit a wallow for an evening hunt. Waiting patiently a 14year old, roman nosed bull walks out at 8 yards! With brush in Zack's shooting lane, he has to hold his bow at full draw for 1min 40sec before getting a clean broadside shot! Zack sent the teeth in to a local lab to have the bull aged. The results came back 14 years old!

I shot an old whitetail buck back in '08. Had 2 points on the left, 3 on the right. Wide spread and thick beams. I checked it's teeth before dressing it. The molars were worn down to the gums. Old, but still in great shape. Came by me chasing 2 young does. Spry old fella! But when I let out a loud grunt call, he hit the brakes at 45 yards. Last mistake. I aged that deer 7 days on ice before I processed the meat. That old buck ate very well, to my pleasant surprise. But I don't know exactly how old it was.

You are correct, it is a bull from an earlier hunt, specifically the original AMBUSH video, 2012. I was thinking of the AMBUSH 2 video from 2017. Looks like it could be same wallow/area.

Bone it out or quarter it and use packboard or a horse or a game cart. I have dragged several out whole on steep ground with a good snow. Carcass weight on young bull or good cow goes 400 lbs. Early season you have to hurry.

Awesome hold on that old warrior. Way to go! I killed a 15 year old bull in the Elkhorns 2009. It is mandatory to send in the jaw for aging. He was a 4x5 with weird horns, no thirds but still was the herd bull. I never knew that they got that old. F+G wanted pictures of it. His hooves were worn rounded and teeth were flat to the gums. He tasted great though. The same fall I killed a 13 years old whitetail that scored 164 with palmation and double drops. What a lucky year that was for old timers.
