I've built hundreds of mod motors, they don't blow plugs that are tight, they blow out because people don't tighten the plugs enough. Used to be a Ford TSB that the manual said to torque plugs 7-14 lbs which is way too low. Tsb said torque to 28 lbs. Any plug that blew out gave the owner clues that they were loose.
