He came up with so many excuses as to why he couldn't do this, according to her he first said that when the business starts succeeding they would get married and then other excuses started rolling in (e.g. more involved in the business and so on). I think he was just stringing her along and trying to change her to a woman that he wants by dangling the idea of a ring, of a future together, infront of her. He knew how much she wanted this. There was a case on divorce court where the couple got married. They eventually had to get a divorce because with them being married, she lost her social security (I believe she too had lupus). There are plenty of people who ends up having to get a divorce because of the medical condition of their spouse. Now for this guy...he’s just looking for all kinds of reasons not to marry her. Even though he might be legit worried about healthcare, it seems like he’s more traumatized by his previous divorce and isn’t trying to go through that again. And he should leave that woman alone! She’s doing all she can while being sick and he doesn’t seem empathetic to her situation! Stop trying to be this bad ass entrepreneur and be an understanding partner first.
