Your attention to detail though admirable must be a real millstone around your neck. These two men had been friends in real life for a long time. They were attuned to each other and knew the material inside and out. But, I dare say, all that aside…as this is a film, it is entirely possible that they may have played the scene more than once to get mannerisms and nuance correct…hmmm, don’t you agree.

@@dudesayingthings They had no choice, the former aunt Agatha died before the season was concluded, and this episode was recorded later, I mean they shuffled the order of recording the episodes. But I do think the other actors from the first and second season should have continued. Inspite of the change in actors, especially Aunt Agatha, at least they were well chosen. I thought the change of Eustace and Claude as twins was a particularly smart idea by the casting director and writers. IDK if Wodehouse specified in the novels they to be twins but I think it was very effective.

While Wodehouse is my absolute favorite author, I have never found that the humor could be interpreted on screen. Simply because it's not acting the narrative which is funny - as in a sitcom - but in the words telling it. This series, however, manages to amuse me. Still not as much as reading his writing but better than any other production of Wodehouse's work I have seen.

I agree - P.G. Wodehouse's humour is in his writing and the imagination - I usually can't make it to the next page due to stomach cramps I get from laughing, but with this series I am usually laughing because of the brilliant acting, though, not to the degree of humour I can find on the books themselves. For some reason, the elements that made the book so funny tend to be interpreted in rather annoying ways on screen - is that just me, or are they equally annoying in the book?
@crackle6875
@crackle6875 2 жыл бұрын
