Wanted to thank Vlad again for making this awesome video and add some tips that I think make this easier! First, wear gloves for sure because there are some sharp edges on the underlip of the car frame. Plus it will just save your hands in general. Two, use the stock o-ring and FLIP IT OVER, fitting the small lip of the o-ring into the groove. This creates the same gap size that is present on the stock lights and will make it much easier to seat the 3 prong light housing. Next, use a flashlight to see exactly where the aggressive prongs are (two prongs have an angled edge, one prong has uniform sides). It's literally like a puzzle piece and must go in this way. Once you determine its orientation, adjust the ring on the light fixture so the prongs match and the wire ends up pointing straight down when you install the light (screwing it in clockwise about 45 degrees). The LED must end up with the lights pointing towards 9 and 3 o'clock - this creates a nice, strong beam. If it's off too far, the light will scatter.

Thanks for the video, I would not have done this if it were not for seeing you do it. You were gone to be blamed if it went wrong, so I must give you the acknowledgement and thank for success. 2 issues I encountered was the metal retainer that the LED locks into on the Jeep came apart . I used epoxy to glue the retainer ring back in temporally, but I ordered a new light housing of course. Second issue, i had to take the gloves off a lot to feel around the install and mon oh man did my hands get scrapped up. It was worth it for the finished product. Thanks again !

Thank you for making this video. It convinced me to do the swap to LED. I went with your recommended brand. Thanks for the pro tip on the headlight seal. Fog lights were super easy. Less than 5 mins on both. The hardest part for me was clocking the low beam headlight bulb. I installed them today and they are awesome. But I don’t think I have them clocked right as I seem to have a dead spot on the driver side light pattern. It’s hard to do without removing the headlight assembly itself.

Just changed my low beams, fog lights, and turn signals all using the products/links you provided. So far so good (2018 GC Laredo). I must say the low light on the driver side was particularly brutal. DONT FORGET TO SWAP OUT THE GASKETS. It took me a sec to remember that and I tore up my hands trying to get it in with the oversized gasket. Clocking isn't too bad, just remember what angle the OEM sits at before you unscrew it, and then align the 3 tab pattern on the new light to match the OEM. Wear safety glasses when doing the fog light or you will get an eye full of dirt. Thanks for the video!

Light is exactly where it was with the halogens, just a lot brighter obviously I didn't feel like messing around in the tight spots to change things out so I yanked the bumper cover and pulled the housings right out. @kctyphoon
@kctyphoon Жыл бұрын
I highly suggest anyone that does this replaces EVERY bulb in the front of the car. The low beams are the hardest and you'll already have everything apart. The high beams are super simple, and so are the front marker lights. Its looks much better if u upgrade all of them. The high beam LEDs are great for those dark roads. Also, the fog light / headlight bulbs he suggested are polarity sensitive, so check they work BEFORE you reinstall them. I bought the same brand he shows for all my fog lights, low beams, and high beams (All white for me). It looks so much better. Fair warning - I've never had led headlights bulbs like these last more than a few years. Despite the "led" lasting basically forever, the electronics behind them usually fail after a few years. The last set I used in a previous car, I opted for the fan less type that just had braided ribbon wire as an external heat sink (one less thing to fail not having fans). They fit almost anywhere (I even have them on my motorcycle). Just be forewarned - dont expect them to last forever, cause they probably wont. Have to see how this brand holds up. Will be doing all the rear on my jeep later today.

@@gsdlkfgmsdlkggsdglkngsl1607 i dont remember 100% if they use the exact same size/base or not, but i think the hi and low beams do. I had to look that up when i bought them. When i said i used the same bulbs, i meant the same “color/brightness/model from the same manufacturer- for all 3 hi/low/fogs so the colors and brightness all matched perfectly. You’ll have to look up on a vehicle bulb size chart to confirm - but I THINK its the fog light bulbs that were a little different. I have 2 orders in my shopping history, and one bulb specifically says “fog light” in the description. If i remember right (cause its been a few months) I’m pretty sure the hi and low beam use the exact same bulb - but its the type/style of headlight lens and reflector thats different on the car - which is what makes them light the roadway differently - and not the bulb. First off I want to thank you for your videos very informative, but I do have to question the signal lights fronts and rear. Lasfit told me today that they've discontinued those LEDs for Grand Cherokee regarding front and rear signals, that they've had too many problems and they're going back to the drawing board. So I respectfully ask myself being a novice What other brand or if you could give me a link on Amazon of an LED front and back turn signal. I'd really appreciate it That's the only thing I'm missing now. I did all the other ones like you did interior and exterior. Thanks again keep up the good work

I'm currently using lasfit switchback 7443 for the front turn signals, no issues unless they are on for too long and overheat. After they cool down, they function correctly without issue. I also replaced the front turn signals with the switchback bulbs linked in this video as well. They were really cool when first installed but they do not work anymore after 2 weeks of being in the vehicle. The bulbs illuminate but the vehicle doesn't communicate with them properly when using turn signals. Vehicle gives fast flash and turn signal out message. Therefore my front turn signals do not work with the amazon linked switchback bulbs in this video. Any suggestions to rectify this situation or should I just avoid the switchbacks and try the solid ambers? Any help would be appreciated.
