What about a "back to Mac" video, when everyone was just using all Mac products? All the single eyeshadows, gimme sun, velvet teddy, etc? And yeah, please make a series out of this. I haven't completely watched this video yet, so I don't know which products you will actually use now, but to me some of those classics are the Chanel tan de soleil bronzer, or the lancome grandiose mascara. Or the too faced chocolate bar palette (or the first jaclyn hill palette). Anastasia dip brow. Maybelline fit me concealer. Becca highlighter (or that Anastasia one!).blushes as Nars orgasm or deep throat. The huda beauty liquid lipsticks.. Stuff like that 😂

Hi Jamie! I also have dry skin and want a medium coverage, more hydrating foundation. But with that being said, Estée Lauder double wear performs better on my skin than any other. I have tried dozens of foundations and nothing ever beats it. However, when I want to make it more radiant and thin it out, I put one pump of the foundation in my hand with 2 pumps of the smashbox primerizer. I mix it together between my fingers and apply with my fingers. Doing this, it almost goes on with the same feel as the MAC face and body. It still dries down well and I haven’t noticed the last of power being compromised. The more sheer I want it, the more of the primer I add. I can get it sheer- full coverage. Just my little trick! Hope you try it out. Might give you a little bit different perspective on the product! Hope you are staying safe and healthy. Thanks for keeping our minds on the bright side!

Love this video! I mainly use single eyeshadows. I like being able to have each shade I want as well as being able to replace each shade as I finish it without buying a whole new palette. My go to Mac eyeshadow from back in the day was naked lunch. I think the Mac lipsticks are so iconic because they had the largest range of finishes and colors of any makeup company for a really long time.

Since makeup palettes are starting to look the same, I’ve been gravitating toward singles to kinda fill “holes” in my makeup. Years ago, Wayne Goss recommended adding a tiny drop of oil to full coverage foundation, so that they’re more luminous.

Hi Jamie, Love this style of video and I hope you'll make it a regular series. I especially love this makeup look. I've never tried MAC eye shadows, or really anything from the brand but I'm really inspired to get every shadow you used as this eye look is totally my jam. Pallets for me are often a big waste of $$ as I inevitably use only 3 or 4 of the shadows. This is an all round lovely look. Understated yet beautiful. Thanks and stay safe and well.

I love using Mac wedge all over the lid and crease and then put hourglass scattered light in reflect all over the lid on top of that! It’s such a nice balance of warm and cool and they pair so so well with each other! Definitely recommend you try it out ☺️ also I still love sable by Mac, all blue eyed girls out there would love that shade ❤️

I’ve never heard anything about the primer what you’ve used here, but a lot of people love guerlain gold primer. It’s a sort of moisturizing primer and it doesn’t have a strong scent, so maybe you would love it too!

Talking about single eyeshadows, you should do the "singles cruise" challenge that Emily Noel did back in the day!! You put your singles into different bags and then pull a shadow from each bag and challenge yourself to do a look with just those shadows!

I have used up my ESTEE lauder DOUBLE wear water fresh and was amazing. I prefer that than the classic double wear because is more hydrating and fresh on the skin.

My all time favorite eye shadow from MAC and in general is Antiqued. There’s literally nothing like it. I’ve never found a dupe for it either. I wore it every single day all over the lid, blown out into the crease and on the bottom lash line. Put on mascara and be done. I’d get compliments on it every time I went out!

I think the best way to apply double wear is using a sponge and applying a very small amount on a small area at a time. The finished look is very natural and beautiful, sometimes even satin if you wear a dewy spf🥰

I love me some eyeshadow palettes! But I always need a separate Zpalette of single shadows for everyday or if I find a new palette that I think I’ll use all the time and I always reach for the singles....for example I’ll use Oud and Amber from Huda’s Desert Dusk palette and I’ll use MUG cream Brûlée for my transition color first or Frappe these two are a must for me! Have you tried the Marc Jacob's stick concealer that was recently released? ( just make sure to use it with your fingers.) Cover Girl and Loreal also recently released full coverage concealers people are loving. The ELF Camo concealer is good. - all 3 of these are very full coverage. The new Shiseido Synchro Skin is supposed to be super good and Dior has a new one that everyone loves, Dior Forever Skin Correct is the name and it looks gorgeous.

MAC Soft Brown is my all time fave! Eyeshadow isn’t one of my most bought makeup items just because you can get SO much use out of what you already have, and I like to keep my collection curated after buying a lot in the original KZbin days and decluttering so much of it. Most of my MAC singles have stuck around though, and more recently I’ve bought a bunch of ColourPop singles too. I would say it’s a shame that not too many brands do singles, but how much does one person need anyway? Being able to create a palette with only shades you love and nothing you know you won’t use is so much better to me than buying palette after palette for a handful of unique shades and a bunch you already have in other palettes!
