I can confirm that the fair shade of the Makeup by Mario stick bronzer does in fact turn orange on super fair translucent olive undertone skin... I swatched it the moment it came out and was immediately disappointed... I cannot find many bronzers that do not turn orange on me though. I have to go with contours and they work well as bronzers for me.

yes!! i’ve stopped concealing under eye which makes me look more like me. however, a drag tip I was taught was I put a small strip of concealer going from the outer corner of my eye out and up towards my temple and somehow that makes me look much more rested than under eye concealer ever did. definitely recommend!

Yes! Maybe everyone else already knew this, but I recently realized that my brow hair isn’t really the same color of undertone as my head hair A lot of the medium brown colors run warm, and I feel like to get the right undertone in some products I would have to go too dark.

I was SO JAZZED for the Patrick Ta highlights and picked up 3 the day they launched because I assumed they would be the same formula as the blush duos and those are perfection (in my opinion), so why would we mess with a good thing? Wrong. The formula is totally different. The ingredients list on the cream highlight is all coconut as castor oil. Essentially a cleansing balm. And we are going to dab that on over a dusty glittery duochrome powder and let it just coagulate and form some sort of gooey highlighter gravy on our cheeks? It stays greasy, gummy, gunky, never sets down so it creases up around the eyes, and removes concealer underneath. And on a hot day - forget it. That will be melting down your cheeks like buttery tears. I love the Chanel baume essential because it's slick but not gummy and it doesn't separate, but this gooey gunky mess of a cream highlight in the Patrick Ta duo is as primitive as vaseline kids makeup from the discount section at the dollar store the day after Halloween. The biggest disappointment of the year thus far.

I really want that makeup by Mario fair shade but I unfortunately am one of the people whose packaging on my original purchase stopped rolling up. The reviews on Sephora are abysmal because of this. Anyone know if they’ve fixed the packaging? I haven’t heard of people having the same issue with the blushes. And unfortunately with the bronzers you won’t know until it’s too late to return. But the product is so good I am thinking of buying anyway and just scraping it out with a spatula if it happens.

Thank you for recommending the ABH baby pink blush. I am a light cool olive who always struggled with blush looking like clown makeup on me but it’s only because I used the popular shades from influencers that leaned too warm on me. I picked up a “cool pink” blush from rare beauty and Buxom but they still looked off on me. The way you showed a cool pink next to the ABH one really resonated with me on finding those blue differences in color. Now I found the blushes that make me so confident and girly which are the pale almost white purple-pink blushes from asian brands, the muted mauve encourage from rare beauty, and haus labs glassy lilac. i really have you to thank for opening up my eyes to color theory and the impact it has on my makeup!

For me, the equivalent of not concealing undereye circles is not color-correcting the ruddiness of my cheeks. Something about letting the redness show through a sheer foundation makes me looks more like me--more dimensional, less flat, more natural. But my undereye circles are so dark and so blue that if I put on any warm-toned eye product without concealing them, all you can see is the contrasting blue circles 😂

Light olive skin here: you are so right that it can be so touch to figure out complexion shades and bronzers! That LYS bronzer reminds me so much of the tone of the Persona Dune bronzer stick-there is a lot of yellow in it, and on my green undertones it goes so orange! I knew the minute I saw the swatch that at least on my skin, it would never work without combining it with a cooler contour. BUT the pale pink blush is perfect for balancing out bronze tones on olive skin-reminds me of a trick Lisa Eldridge explained in a latte makeup video years ago. She said that if the bronze tones were looking flat or muddy, use a tiny bit of pink blush, and it makes everything come to life. I use this technique almost daily-whenever my makeup looks not quite at home, I add Persona Bubble and all of a sudden everything looks perfect. You can’t see the blush-it doesn’t register as pink. It just makes all the neutral tones pop. Wild!
