Also when they punch they are completely exposed. If a kickboxer or a boxer enter the tournament i think will easily exploit those mistaked and get the ko.

These guys are used to point fighting of course they would lose to a professional fighter who has done full contact competition for years. Point of this competition is for karate athletes to fight eachother for real, it will take some time for the quality to improve, but it should not develop into a style that is indistinguishable to kickboxing as that will defeat the purpose. Not every fighter keeps a high guard. Plenty of boxers fight with their hands down as well. Advantage of this is their opponent can not see where their punches are coming from, disadvantage is they are more exposed.
