The problem is that people think arm and glove punches count which they don’t, it only counts if it cleanly lands on the face and body. Dela Hoya threw more but landed overall less, the crowd was literally screaming every time Dela Hoya threw a punch, even when it missed but never cheered when Floyd landed one cleanly.
