I commend the Cuban amateur boxing program,'s coaches, they do an awesome job teaching the sweet science. The fighters that come out of the program always have a great jab, punch from different angles and have an incredible sense of timing and distance. This is a display of master class boxing. I would love to see him fight the top guys in the junior welterweight division, specifically Terrence Crawford because of both of their ability to box and brawl equally as effective. It also doesn't hurt that they can each fight in both stances to make it an interesting fight .

Jack Fields i saw a lot of crawford, but rances is much quicker on his feet imo..and he put shis punches together better..glad he's going back down to 135 to win a belt tho

Rances was scoring homeruns with the left hand, solid performance; I like his composure -- He's always sure of what he's doing, he's a thinking boxer. He worked with the left jabs and followed up with combinations-- 1'2s. Antonio was a sucker for the left hand-- his head was a clear target for Rances to land flush, and he could hardly miss; Barthelemy switching stances was also problematic, He would get through with right hands and set up hard left hands, right on target. Also, Antonio Demarco couldn't adjust, most of his punches hit air or were blocked. At times, he tried to land to the body, but Barthelemy would counter and nullify his assault. Rances also had great ring generalship and made this fight look like a walk in the park.

The best Cuban fighters at the moment?.....Rigondeux.....Lara.....& Barthelemy, who may be the best of the lot. Barthelemy has X- factor written all over him. I'd love to see him matched against Crawford.

Antimatter ThreeThou Rigondeux's win against Donaire was very revealing, wasn't it? Up until then, nobody else was able to do that to Donaire. Barthelemy deserves an "A" for ability - he's hardly lost a round, let alone a fight, during his professional career, but his standard of opposition can't compare to Rigondeux's & Lara's. That's why I asked for a Crawford-Barthelemy match-up. Barthelemy needs to be in there against somebody who can actually test him.

Jesus DeJesus No doubt they all make the game look ridiculously easy. Lara has good following, but Rigo & Barthelemy are still trying to build their popularity. Rigo especially needs more activity. He seems to be waiting around for big money fights that are unlikely to materialize. He's a low key type of guy, & boxers like that need to fight often to stay in the public's consciousness. Andre Ward is in the same boat. Ward's victories against all those world class fighters appear now to be almost for nothing, & he needs to rebuild his rep with a busy boxing schedule. Without increased activity Rigo's career is going nowhere fast.

ReeseTheComedian Barthelemy hangs his right arm out from a safe distance & uses it as bait. Then when his opponent steps in to counter, Barthelemy counters his opponent's counterpunches. Unless you know what you're doing, its actually a dangerous way to fight; but as you've said, Barthelemy knows how to make it work.

kufujitsu paulie is talkin about this the everytime virgil mentions him bring his jab back low...only this is that this game is not always a young mans sport...when the speed leaves u cant bait as much..but u see floyd still getting away with it at 38 vs one of the fastest guys in the sport..i think rances will be just fine
