The one thing that I don’t like about flying is having to deal with the younger kids wish they were get in there seats and just stay quiet without them having to scream and cry and disturb the whole flight and everyone noise canceling headphones is the best way to go

It is an unfortunate part of flying. As you mention though. That's where a good pair of noise cancelling headphones does wonders. Thanks for watching my friend!

@NovejSpeed3
@NovejSpeed3 2 жыл бұрын
@@tpain5402 (great name) Its a great plane with a system it never even needed all because they wanted to make it feel like an NG to the pilots. I have a degree in Aeronautical Engineering so believe me when I say the Max never NEEDED MCAS.
@tpain5402
@tpain5402 2 жыл бұрын
@@NovejSpeed3 Then you should know it wasn't just to make it feel like the NGs.
@NovejSpeed3
@NovejSpeed3 2 жыл бұрын
@@tpain5402 in laymans terms yes it was. They originally incorporated it after they noticed the Max's tendency to pitch up while performing the windup maneuver which is a very tight high angle of attack climb done during flight testing. This pitch up was easily correctable by the pilots and no where near out of the limits of the aircrafts horizontal stabilizer and elevators to correct. However, the NGs (which also had this tendency when performing this maneuver) did not tend to do so as much as the Max. Therefore, this would put the Max outside the guarantee Boeing made a certain little LUV-ly airline out of Dallas that no additional pilot training would be needed for the Max. In fact that was a guarantee they backed with a 2 million dollar payout deal they would give said airline PER JET if that failed to met. Please tell me what I missed? They later gave MCAS more scope while taking away more redundancy. Originally it had two sensor authentication (one angle of attack and the g reading sensor)...However the later was removed as MCAS usage continued to increase.....because that makes total sense....but yes MCAS was used to "hide" the slight flying characteristic differences between the Max and the NGs......None of which a pilot couldn't simply be trained to correct without MCAS ever being installed. The problem is when MCAS scope and trim input limiys increased while its redundancies and time from pilot reset decreased.......and that they just couldn't truly turn the damn thing off. EDIT oh and that little airline Boeing said they'd give 2 million dollars per plane to if additional pilot training was required on the Max, yeah they put in an initial order for 200 planes... So now when looking at a company run by bean counters instead of engineers....you start to see 400 million reasons why they wanted to hide MCAS

Very nice! Definitely far from a direct route. Looks like the flight went directly east until around Atlanta or SC and then up to NY. Any idea why?
@sla31
@sla31 Жыл бұрын
I cannot remember off the top of my head the exact reason for this specific flight. But usually when a flight like this takes a roundabout way to get to the destination, it’s because there is some large weather system over the part of the country that would be a direct route.

How do you get the camera to be so still? Do you have some sort of suction on the window?
@sla31
@sla31 2 жыл бұрын
I do travel with a suction cup mount, but I don't use it most of the time. This particular flight I held the camera by hand. A lot of the smoothness is due to the cameras built in stabilizers. There's a reason why an iPhone costs so much and it's not all the Apple name. The camera technology, including the built in stabilization is incredibly good.

I know this point has probably been made ad nauseum and in so many millions of different ways, but I just can't help myself...I have to do it: I love how the recorded PA stresses at the beginning just how important passenger & crew safety is to Anerican Airlines (or maybe it said 'passenger safety' and not 'passenger & crew safety' ?). Yeah, so important that the airline forced its pilots and crew to take 'spots' of something no one knows anything about that seems to be killing a number of people globally. In fact, many pilots find themselves grounded today, likely to never fly again. Some have dropped dead mid-flught. Who's bright idea was it to force pilots to be administered a new 'maxine' that hadn't been thoroughly tested and vetted prior to it being given out? Technically, all pilots who have had these 'spots' should be grounded until until full efficacy and safety are established but of course, today, we know that they are neither effective nor safe. I can't wait to see the class action lawsuits that ultimately come against the airlines for this crime. Dare I say that it could well destroy the airline industry as we know it today and the future of flight may look very different. Sad but possible. And that's important passenger (and crew, maybe) safety is to American Airlines (and all other airlines that participated on this senseless crime as well).
