Not sure why, but partial flaps were deployed very early on this flight upon arrival in the Charlotte area, maybe ATC required the aircraft to maintain a relatively low airspeed on approach? Also, there must have been a lot of moisture in the air to cause all of that low pressure vapour over the wings. Great presentation, well done :-) Regards from the UK

I have to be honest, it’s so beautiful up in the air but also I understand the plane is flying at fast speed honestly when your up there it feels like your not moving or going anywhere. Not to sound stupid or anything but does it have to do with wind resistance or something. Taking off on the runway yes you feel that speed and when it comes off the ground.
@sla31
@sla31 4 жыл бұрын
Basically, it's because you're body adjusts to the speed. When you accelerate, you feel it, because the G forces are pushing against you as you accelerate. Once you've reached 500mph, your body is also going 500mph. So, the g forces are equalized. It's no different then sitting in a chair going 0mph. The chair and you are stationary, so no physical forces are acting on your body to make you feel like you're moving. Once you and the plane have reached 500mph and are no longer accelerating, then it's basically the exact same as you sitting in that chair going 0mph.

Skylite Productions thank you for sharing that with me Skylite. Appreciate that. Please be safe. Last time I flew was 5 years ago. I have a little fear of flying but I know it’s a safe and fast way to travel.

i watch these- well, watch the take off then i fall asleep to these videos almost every night. i hadn't been on a plane since 13 years ago until last two weeks ago when I finally had the circumstances to take a vacation from jan. 05 to jan.12. seems like there aren't any american airline straight flights from new york to florida so i had to take 4 planes in total for the round trip; from lga to clt and then fll. the first plane was an airbus (don't remember the number) and then a boeing 737 which flies more sturdy and smooth, i could've felt the difference. but the airbus' window seat by the exist in the 23rd row had the most leg room from your seat to the flight attendant's who sit directly across from you. best location. because i hadn't been on a plane in so long, i didn't mind at all. my planes didn't play the new pre recorded safety jingle with the female's voice, i kinda wanted to hear it in person, lol. in addition, these videos helped me to choose some window seats, location wise. i like to be just behind the wing where i can look directly down but i had forgotten the seat numbers from not flying for so long. i used to always asked for the window seat back then. this was when window seats were a first come first served basis and weren't extra money like today. i noticed to two other changes, when i was younger i've always like take off more than landing but now i find that i prefer landing more than take off. i guess that's a grown up thing. and the other change i noticed is that people don't clap anymore whenever the pilot lands the plane. flying as a wee lad back then, people always clapped whenever the plane landed so it was kind of unexpected of hearing silence after touch down as i was getting ready to clap, lol. times have changed.

I’m glad my videos were able to help you in your journey. I agree. Row 23 and 25 on some of American’s A321’s, are in my opinion, the best economy seat in the domestic US. I love sitting there. Anyways, sounds like you had a great trip getting back in the air for the first time in a long time. I’m glad you are enjoying my videos. Thanks for watching!

The red bag of the person who boarded in front of me did look a bit large. I've noticed that American's gate agents are generally pretty good at stopping bags that are too big, but I'd imagine things slip by all the time. Thanks for watching my friend!

Thanks my friend! Honestly I would fly an A319 or A321 over the 738 any day. They are far more comfortable in my opinion. I wouldn’t consider American not flying the 738 on the route you fly as a bag thing hahaha. Thanks for watching!

Can anyone answer this question " when does the pilot know when to lower the first stage of his flaps before landing"?
@sla31
@sla31 4 жыл бұрын
Well, I'm not a pilot, at least not for complex aircraft, but I think it depends on the situation. I know they can only be lowered at certain speeds, so that plays a big roll. Even in a Cessna 172 there are published speeds to extend each set of flaps.

Abort landing means that the plane needs to go around the airport?
@sla31
@sla31 5 жыл бұрын
It can. But, a go-around as it’s actually called could be done and then the pilots decide to divert to an entirely different airport.
