I had a layover in PIT in 1997 on USAir. It's stunning how much quieter that airport is since those days.

Hi Jazzguy! Great video on this short domestic hop, really enjoyed it! :) That new terminal @PIT looks like it will be very nice and a major upgrade to what they have now. The views during descent into NYC are almost always fantastic and scenic and this was no exception :) Brendan

Thank you! Yes can't wait for the new terminal at PIT to start construction and be completed. Will be a great and much needed change.

I had to chuckle because I too ALWAYS look at an airline’s fleet page in their magazine 😊. Even if I have flown that airline 10+ times!

This video is very helpful! I'm flying from Pitt to NYC LGA and then from LGA home to Norfolk July3'rd. Pittsburgh seems like a cool city a bit more laid back than Philly.

Great video! Though PIT has a little more air traffic, they are starting to become like CVG. You can walk the mall and terminal and only see a couple flights.
@thejazzguy135 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yah...I mean PIT is getting more flights and the day I filmed this was a Sunday & holiday, but still you're right...largely empty

That airport has many different cargo tunnels underneath. They say its the longest tunnel in the whole city of Pittsburgh and probably the longest tunnel in the Western Hemisphere.

I can remember often flying DCA to LGA on L188’s and DC-9’s on a long gone carrier called Eastern. LGA really needs an overhaul like DCA got. As for the WiFi not working the captain should complain to management and push hard to get it fixed.

I know what u mean, & completely agree that it's such a shame, even now after all the airport authority has done to bring in new flights/airlines, remodel the airside terminal a bit, yet ur still walking through a largely empty terminal. I ESPECIALLY hate when u land at KPIT & all u see is empty gate after empty gate. Hopefully it'll continue to improve. Enjoyed the vid as always 😉👍👍

I actually like the emptiness, it's very peaceful.
@dodoubleg23565 жыл бұрын
@@thegongfarmer7298 that's true. In all honesty I'd prefer a peaceful airport than a mad house circus, ha...just not a DEAD airport...but KPIT is slowly pulling outta those ranks that eh hem, a certain airline put us in...#THXUSAIRWAYS
@thejazzguy135 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Nathan! And I completely agree...you can blame the commissioners and US Airways for what PIT is today. It is such a fantastic hub airport without an airline calling it home...so unfortunate.
@dodoubleg23565 жыл бұрын
@@thejazzguy13 agreed.(& thx for the reply). I mean the Allegheny Co. Airport Auth. built 'em a hub in '91, but when it came to crunch time, US AIRWAYS cut & ran & moved/expanded their hubs to Charlotte & Phoenix. All I gotta say is, to all ur subscribers who may fly into Pgh, this is what happens when u live in a mid-size market like Pitt, & despite being a hub for 1 of the top 4 U.S. airlines at the time, that airline decides to pull the plug for the greener grass which in this case was just a few hundred miles south in NC...but hey, can't REALLY fault US AIRWAYS. Through mismanagement at the highest levels & competition (um, Southwest 😉), it didn't matter where they went, their financial woes would follow 'em. I know it's a stretch, but can a proud yinzer as well as an AV Geek say, "see, ya just shoulda stayed in good 'ol Pgh?" (I realize, TROOLS, that due to their $$ troubles this was never in the cards for US Airways & KPIT, but a boy can dream). Thx again for the reply. 😉👍👍✌

I’ve never flown before. Love watching your videos. I have a quick question. I booked my first flight for this November. However, seemed a bit confused as in, is it normal to not get a terminal number in my confirmation email, or on my reservations page on the American Airlines app? Thank you so much.
@thejazzguy134 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! And cool mate enjoy your first flight! Yep totally normal, they don't assign gates until around a day or two before your flight (sometimes a couple hours)

Why can't American airlines have like 3 or 4 groups, instead of 9???

@rohknyc5 жыл бұрын
I was just thinking that! My brother who used to live in CLT told me how demeaning it is for AA to have so many boarding groups. Talk about segregating society! Is it really more efficient to board in 9 groups or is it more about status?

how many different spirit liveries did you see and you didn't want to fly DL do you have freq flier miles on anybody is the 190 more comfortable than the CRJ-9 funny they show the MD-80 painted in the new colors when we all know that AA never painted them in the Cubana colors like the rest of the fleet sad that the 80s are no longer flying with AA
@thejazzguy135 жыл бұрын
I think there are currently 3 different Spirit liveries, and they're fazing their older white and silver ones out for the all yellow fleet. And yes I do have FF miles with quite a few airlines. Thanks for watching!
