Loved the opening shot of the outside air terminal. Like everything in Hawaii, even the airport is beautiful! I've been there once...I MUST go back! 🏔🌤

The 717s are so cute flying and they remind me as well of the old DC-9s.

They remind me of the 727s which were almost everywhere in the late 70s and 80s. Remember flying many as a kid on airlines like American, the old Delta livery, prettier than the dull whites of today. Eastern, TWA and Braniff when it was around. Loved the many colors it showed. The 727s had the exact sound, music to the ears. Such fond memories as a young kid!

@@leemartin1417 I agree with you about the old 727s. When I went to work with my former airline back in 1999, I flew the 727-200s a lot. They were very nice and fast. I began to miss them back in the early 2000s. But still great aircraft.I have noticed some cargo companies have the 727-200s still flying. And that is still nice to see.

Beautiful! I really like the view when taking off in Honolulu, on the most southern runway, the view is fantastic! When landing at Kona, it sure looks like you're going to land on the lava flow. Thank you for continuing to record when you exited the plane, it sure brought back some good memories with the scenery!

Kona is one of my favorite places on Earth. I love the Big Island, and with Kona being the main gateway to the island, it's a place I've been now many times. It was really clear on this day. Usually clouds are coving the inland parts. As always, I'm glad you enjoyed this one and it was able to stir those memories up. Thanks for watching!

I miss TWA's 717's! They were easy to fly as a flight attendant! Great view,and one I miss! TWA used to do a LAX-KOA run I got to work it only one time. Fun route, beautiful views! I need to visit again, if it just werent so expensive!

Are you saying TWA used a B-717 from LAX-KOA ?

@@topgeardel no. Just in their fleet. I was also referencing that I'd worked that run. That run was a 757-200.

Great fly! I heard some people say turbulence is deadly and dangerous. Is that true?
@sla312 жыл бұрын
No. Although severe turbulence can be dangerous, 99% of the turbulence you're ever going to go through is mild-moderate and it is perfectly normal, the planes are designed to handle it, and it's perfectly safe.

Was the pilot in a hurry ? Departing Gee he was taxing fast.
@sla312 жыл бұрын
Hawaiian typically blocks their 717 inter-island flights for as little as possible. This often leads to very fast taxi times as the pilots are trying to stay on schedule. A lot of the time, their 717's will get to the gate like 15 minutes before they're supposed to leave again. Taxiing fast can make up a lot of time. Thanks for watching my friend!

Do you prefer flying shorter sectors or longer ones?
@sla312 жыл бұрын
That's a great question. That I'm actually having to think about haha. I guess I'd say longer as that makes less work for me in the end, but when I upload daily, I couldn't sustain the channel on only longer flights. I have to take short segments so I can get enough filming in to actually release content everyday. So, it's a double edged sword haha.

Are the Hawaiian Islands visible from each other on the ground ?
@sla312 жыл бұрын
On clear days, yes. You can see the next island over, but not the ones farther down. If it's too hazy then you can't see any of the other islands. But if you're on say, Maui and look west towards Oahu, on most days, you'll be able to see the other islands. which is pretty good honestly, considering they're 80 miles apart.
