Amazing video❤️✨I’m currently training to be a hairdresser myself and I’m currently practicing foil highlighting which I’m struggling with but out of all the other videos yours is the best!💯 you’re a inspiration♥️ and what I want to ask is what’s the purpose of a high and low developer is it the shade of the blonde color light and dark?
@StylesBySummer2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jamal! Thank you for the sweet comment! I like to start off with a low developer in the back as I know those back foils will be sitting longer than the front. Low and slow. And I work my way up to a higher developer on top and everything lifts pretty even.

Help, my hair is dyed with a Sally's perm level 7 which has me as t a orange brown : ( I'm going to do a foilage technique on myself .. But need help to answer will the final tonor *( thinking a CT14, with a capful of 050 additive ) will it tone out the rest of my hair to get rid of orange ?? *( I have NOT Bleached yet, it's just lifted to light a brown and sun damage) ... help please . Should I color all over and then bleach ? Or just bleach my foils then tone all over with a 10 vol..
@StylesBySummer2 жыл бұрын
Oh no! I'm not familiar with Sally's line. If it's orange you need to add in a blue/violet shade with a neutral. Hope this helps.

whats the difference between slicing and weaving im getting mixed answers from my teachers. what recommendations do u have on foiling faster/tips. i do 2 sections in the back vs 3. do u think 3 takes just as long? how do i prevent bleeding , besides placing foils in between? thank you so much ur my fav
@StylesBySummer2 жыл бұрын
A weave will look a little softer over a slice bc there will be natural hair slightly coming through the section once done. Does that make sense? Two sections is faster, but you're not getting quite as much coverage compared to 3. Try not to be to worried about time in school, you will get faster the longer you are in the industry.

Hi Summer - I’m not a stylist at all - just a customer who has had foils for years / highlighting every 2 mos or so . Had same stylist for 10+ years . Med length hair . I really love watching your tutorials. Should I be concerned that my stylist requires me to hand her the foils wrapped around a plastic board? I stay busy and can’t relax. She does a good job on the color , but I’m not sure she does continuing Ed or stays up with latest trends. I’m done with cut and color in about 2.5 hours. I love her - we have built a friendship. But…
@StylesBySummer2 жыл бұрын
If you are happy with the color then stay with her but you completely have the right to tell her you don't want to hang her foil. To me that's very unprofessional of her to do, and it's not the clients job. You are there to relax and get pretty!
@carolyn61462 жыл бұрын
@@StylesBySummer thank you so much - she could charge more I’ll admit - so I am not sure what to do now. She has been very good with my color , but lately the color ( blonde) has been fading after a few weeks and a little brassy. She says it might be the iron in my well water?
@StylesBySummer2 жыл бұрын
@@carolyn6146 well water is extremely hard on blondes! Malibu C has a hard water shampoo that might be good to use here and there to balance it out!

Thank you , she tones the whole hair. It just seems to lose its brightness and become just a tad brassy. I go every 8 weeks.

@StylesBySummer2 жыл бұрын
Hi Paulina! I start off with a lower developer in the back and finish with a higher level. The lower is level is because I know that the lightener is going to sit on the hair longer, so I like to go low and slow with it. Does that help?

The video doesn’t show the toner application
@mkennamiller53403 ай бұрын
Because toner is a very simple process. Toner+developer, let it sit until it gets to the color you want, if you want ashy blonde you’re going to want a purple blue color, it will wash out don’t panic. if you want a beige blonde the toner should be almost brown when done processing and you’ll come out with a deep beige/warm blonde. The toners will tell you what they’re for and what level blonde you need. Toner isn’t as meticulous as bleach, you can just put it on the head kinda like conditioner and let it process

It's supposed to be 100% human hair, but I think it has some synthetic in there.
@paulinaalphonce84562 жыл бұрын
And also the way you finish …..some highlights become yellow how to fix it ,,?
@StylesBySummer2 жыл бұрын
You can typically balance out yellow with your toner/glaze. So you would want to add violet to your formula as purple is opposite of yellow on the color wheel, but you want to still mix it with a warm shade if you don't want it to be to ashy. If you still don't like the results of that, you may need to be lifting lighter.
@paulinaalphonce84562 жыл бұрын
@@StylesBySummer okay thanks so much ..to make sure if I understand is I take yellow shampoo mixed with warm shade and with which peroxide 10,20,or i should ask if someone want lighter or dark ? What do you mean by saying Ashy what is Ashy i get the feeling is the affect jus apper on the hiighlit only and not the full hair ,
