Did the devs call 7 days to die the crown jewel of suviver games.... what a load of bs the level of ego they have is mind blowing. I'm ganna be blunt I don't trust the devs or their claims their actions and post show they can't handle Constructive criticism or getting called out for their bs. With how long it took 7 days to die to get this far I would be suprised if bandits and tye story stuff doesn't get added for another 12 years if ever and wity their track record pared with them making a different game I wouldn't be shocked if all update and support stops for 7 days to die in 2025 or 2026.. payed $3k to the devs to aid in their kick starter back in the day and I have next to nothing to show for it even after 12 years. I'm hyped for the full relase but I will never aid or suport the devs and I recommend no one spends money to aid them in blood moon in any way they have been amassing wealth for 12 years deliberately prolonging the development of 7 days to die to make as much money as possible and have been hiding behind steams protection due to the game was in alpha now they have more then enugh money to higher Professional programmers and designers and artist but refuse to higher anyone that has experance so the can make as much money with doing as little for their game as possible milking the 7 days to die Fandom. As somone who has envesting time and money into funpimps and 7 days to die all I can say is avoid envesting in them at all cauest outside of buying the full relase of 7 days to die don't spend money on dlc or any feture games it just a money pit with next to no pay off in sight.

I only got in around Alpha 10, which was years later! 3000 in support is a lot, and I agree in general that people who joined the kickstarter really got shafted. I assume the renaming from Alpha 22 to version 1.0 was due to the console release. As far as I know, the old console version had to be sold as "finished" instead of Alpha so that Sony and Microsoft would allow it to be sold.

I feel like they were forced their hands to do this because of consoles. It doesn't feel like a complete game when things like weather systems, biome overhauls, UI overhauls, etc. Basically any of the listed overhauls on their road map should've been part of the 1.0 Gold release. If it's a complete game, why do they need to do overhauls for a game that should be "Complete"? Doesn't make sense. If those overhauls were part of the 1.0, I have no issues with that and I would've seen everything else as things to add onto the base game. I don't really buy it as a gone gold thing, just a thing they're forced to do.

TO be fair, imo. this should of been full released 4-6 years ago. they should be workin on their 3rd game by now honestly..... they kept redoing things and fixing stupid shit that didnt matter. its a good game. but i wonder how much better it be by now if they could of stayed focused. planned better. they redid the skill tree i lost count how many times. kept patchin out exploits because players played their game other than they wanted them too. i can go on. if u want examples.... overall thought they done right by me. i mean no bs dlcs, loot crates. its been playable and fun in most states. so i not crying about it for the price they asked. its been good deal for me... but from business standpoint. i shocked they are still not bankrupt

It's fine to add bandits or to add a wardrobe system, that seems more like post-launch content. Especially those who are interested in buying it because they didn't want to buy a game that is "Incomplete", at least from their own interpretation/understanding of what is a fully released game. Everyone's definition is different but the main points of it is still the same. If you bought a game and then were told that the devs are gonna overhaul a bunch of systems and UI, you begin to question whether or not this game is actually finished or not.

I think 45 dollars is seriously pricing it way high. At 25 bucks, with discounts down to 7-8, raising it to 45 is not 25 --> 45 ... it's feeling like 8 --> 45. If they had gone 30, sure.. but 45? Still it's likely due to the XBOX version being 45, so it's hard to sell it XBOX for 45 and PC 25.

There're compopacks and mods doing it. An issue with player made POI's is rights. They'd have to go through legal process with people in different jurisdictions, and then they'd still have to be updated/balanced to fit in and so on, and they already have a bunch of people making POI's. :)

I would agree for console players, crossplay is more important. It's not necessarily that bandits is more important. I think in many ways, the lack of bandits just highlights an overall issue... in that for years we've pretty much gotten no new real game features. Changes, tweaks, re-makes, but the game in A21 (and likely 1.0) will pretty much play the same as A18.

What I've said from the beginning with the new A17 AI, is that having it for POI's is fine. For wandering hordes, blood moon hordes, screamer hordes, it should be more like A16 and just a massed attack. Simplify, make it run better for hordes, and make it more fun.

To play the devils advocate. Consider the mess with the console title. Perhaps things got pushed because now they got the ability to work on the console version and that could have complicated the timeline of things. Meaning that they are essentially making two games at once and had to adapt the game a lot more to fit the console world. At this point version numbers doesn't really matter.

I always viewed the game as being a full one ever since they added electricity, and the alphas were just what they named their updates. I never really liked hearing people on the outside meme-ing on the game with: "Oh, is that that game that's been in early access for 10 years?" I even heard a streamer use 7 Days as an example for why early access is a bad thing. That one really got to me. I have close to 2,000 hours of playtime in 7 Days, and... I don't know... It's always been a full game in my heart. And I'm happy to see the game basically "graduate" and move onto the next phase of its life. Even though I like the devs as people, I understand that they've made multiple questionable decisions with the game's design, but... that's never stopped me from loving the game. It's still my favorite survival game to this day. Sorry. I just got sentimental seeing the developers celebrating this announcement in this video. If that's what they were doing 😅 Edit: Nevermind, that isn't what they're doing, but still.

As a console player, I am beyond excited for this release. Been watching Neebs gameplay for years, and already know that it will give me an insane amount of fun game time. I also don't understand the overly toxic community for 7DtD. No Man's Sky is very similar as far as development, but its community is almost completely positive. It's amazing to me that The Fun Pimps have kept at it all this time with such a disrespectful and ungrateful fan base. I too would be happy to see them keep working on it for another 10 years. Also, in this age of $70-$130 unfinished games; $45 for what this has to offer already, seems like a steal to me.

I'd like bandits/npc's .. or taking out the traders. Right now the traders majorly unbalance the game, and are actually the MAIN play cycle. Ie, trader --> quest --> run POI --> back for reward and repeat. But there's no one buying, so why is the trader there?

@@Vedui42 yeah when the traders were first implemented i thought they were cool a good work forward to maybe npcs in the near future, but i think when they added the quests they kinda unbalanced them, at first it took more time/effort to buy anything since you had to actually find stuff, but i think the quests give you to much with not much effort since specially early game you can cheese most of the quests, and the fact that you can put things into the vending machines and sell stuff im like ok where are they, my stuff sells but i never see a soul that makes no sense.

1.0 full release = alpha with the option to abandon. If its not feature complete then its still alpha. They didnt even make it to beta. Yeah I’m viewing this situation as similar to Minecraft. They got out of beta and called it a “complete game” even though honestly 1.0 Minecraft in my opinion is pretty boring. With incomplete features and really important features that they waited a while to complete or add. Bandits are something we shouldn’t complain about because they are a complex system that unlike with the somewhat clunky ones that modders hurried out, the devs want them to be perfect with special abilities probably. So yeah I think that all these features after 1.0 are fine because they make sense for what the fun pimps intended and what other companies in their position have done.

I think the problem with bandits, is that it's literally been in development for 5 years ... most other survival games which are out now, were made in less time than 5 years. So being unable to get bandits out in the same time whole games are made from start to finish, is hard to explain away. I personally think they should have aimed at 15 years EA tho!

i really hate the bandits they better make a option for disabling bandits or enabling them if not i aint playing this game anymore cuz bandits are seriously annoying i mean yes it makes the game more challenging but still there are like blood moons and plus we already have special zombies to deal with thats enough

There might or might not be a game option for disabling bandits, but mods will take care of that :) It's pretty trivial right now, substitute a spawn for another, so a mod will be able to handle it easily.

It's interesting that it's 10 yrs old already. BC it sure tf doesn't feel like a game that took 10 yrs to make. Not even close. Don't get me wrong, I think this game is incredibly amazing but it's nowhere near a RDR 2 which also took right around 10 yrs. In fact it's nowhere near ANY game that took 10 yrs to make. That being said those games weren't even available for any kind of play while 7D has been all along.

Yes, and I think this is a common issue raised. After 12 years, with 50-60 people working on it... we have to compare to other games which took half the time with far less people to launch. It's not that the game is bad, it's more than it seems so SLOW. :)

WTF, change the name and still not finish, IF THEY had not kept changing the AI to defeat player horde bases, re worked crafting, re worked farming, re worked weapons and not been working on another game, just maybe it would actually be gold.

The AI change for zombies was bad. Maybe it was necessary, I don't know, but it feels like they changed it, had a big performance impact, but then were so "pleased" with their work they refused to pull it out again. A horde game where you have 8 zombies attacking isn't much of a horde.

This game has always been a finished product for me. I’ve played ‘finished’ games that are plagued with issues. Some never fixed. These guys have kept on it constantly, and all for free.

@@Podcastforthewin games to easy rn. with trader rewards arent even based off gamestage they just want you to reach endgame by doing trader quest. the only reason to get forges and workbenches is not to craft weapons or tools its to mass produce materials for your base.

I definitely agree it's gone from being a survival shooter to a looter shooter. Not that I can't have fun with that, but I originally bought it for the survival aspects, not to get another looter shooter :)

This is just what games do now, they’re basically doing the same thing but why call it alpha when you can say it’s done and continue the hype train with updates fixes and new content… if the big companies can deliver unfinished paid products so can they… they are just getting with the times… early releases and alphas are so 2015…

That is very true. It's unfortunate however, but seems to be how things have been moving over many years. Big companies get away with broken launches, and to get sales, hype, income, smaller companies end up doing it too. Launch early, get revenue, and hope they can keep interest while they improve the experience.
