We actually had to stream the Propresenter to OBS via NDI protocoll (Set up a screen called OBS with NDI output) - we then added the Propresenter screen as source in the OBS and stream both the video and the audio using OBS. For now, I think that's about the onlything we can do while waiting on the audio features to be devlopped.

Braintrust, I was just approved to purchase the following, but need advice on the products/software we need to do “in-house” presentations along with a “live stream” using one computer. We’ve used ProPresenter since 2012, but we’ve never live streamed. Purchasing: MacBook Pro 16” 8 core, i9, 2.3 GHz Processor or better. 32 GB of DDR4 RAM AMD Radeon Pro 5500M GPU with 8GB RAM. 1 TB SDD storage We are also upgrading from ProPresenter 6 to 7.1. We plan on purchasing two PTZOptics 20x or 30x optical zoom Gen 2 cameras. Although should we go with SDI or NDI? PoE is also a desired feature, but not mandatory. We also use a Yamaha TF5, digital mixing console. Should this be used for the live steam? If so, is additional software needed? What am I missing? Do we need additional software or can everything be done on ProPresenter? I knew you said ProPresenter has the audio issues, is there a good work around? Any recommendations? The goal is to have one person do the “in-house” ProPresenter presentation along with the “live stream” using one computer. Hopefully the camera presets will help with this too. I know you can’t answer everyones complex questions, but I think most of us want to set up systems with good quality video and audio on a budget. So that would be my type of video recommendation. With so many of us novices have to live stream as a solution to the virus, we feel overwhelmed with so many options and configurations. I appreciate that your videos focus on the whole system, unlike the manufacturers who tend to push just their own product. Thanks

Wow, this is the best Propresenter demonstration I have seen. Never knew I could do all these. I use Propresenter at a very basic level to live events and project on stage. But I recently got a new video switcher (Atem mini) and the Propresenter stopped bringing in audio signals. Only video signals now. Do you know how I could fix this? My old video device (intensity shuttle) worked well bringing videos and audio feed with no alterations. But them Atem mini device seems no to be bringing audio yet. Maybe it is something I am yet to figure out. Edit: I only just got to the audio part of your video now. The audio has always worked for me before with audio and video signal coming together in video. Just not sure why it stopped working when I changed devices.
@BraintrustCreative4 жыл бұрын
According to Renewed Vision, there’s an issue with usb-based video devices not bringing in audio. (Same reason the FaceTime camera doesn’t bring in audio at this time.) The ATEM mini is a usb-video device (like a webcam) instead of a thunderbolt or similar device using Blackmagic’s drivers. We do know they have an ATEM mini in their labs right now to aide in fixing the issue, and we’ve been told a fix is coming soon for this type of device.

Unfortunately not at this time (though you totally could route these all inputs to a custom stage display output that could always be live, much like a switcher’s multiview). Renewed Vision has implied that live preview of inputs in the input bin is coming in a future release.

Thank you for this tutorial. I wanted to know if you guys knew of a way to adding a guest with zoom rather than a Skype?
@BraintrustCreative4 жыл бұрын
Right now Zoom does not support NDI - so you’ll actually need to run it on another computer and send the zoom feed as a video signal out to your machine running Pro7. It’s a bit messy, but it works. Take Zoom full screen on that second computer, and use an input device (like a blackmagic mini recorder) to input it into Pro.

Does anyone else get any flickering/screen tear when streaming to KZbin via Pro7? Our stream runs perfectly fine when we encode and broadcast through Ecamm by sending out our Pro7 feed via NDI, but if we try broadcasting from Pro7 itself we get flickering only on the side of KZbin.

Really awesome tutorial. Great pacing and you clearly know what you're doing. So refreshing compared to some other videos on here. Couple of questions from someone who has never touched PP but is giving it some serious thought: - I noticed when you were clicking around between sources, it would do a gentle cross dissolve between them. I'm assuming there's a way to select what you want that transitional behavior to be (can it be just a straight cut, can you adjust the time of the dissolve, etc.?)... it would be nice to see how that works. - It's great that the "props" are able to be controlled independently, but I noticed there was a singular "default: dissolve 1s" transition time that looked like it was tied to all of the props together. Are you able to choose a separate transition time/style for each separate prop? - Also related to props, can that floating props window be "docked" in line with the rest of the UI? Most of what I would use PP for are those overlay graphics (though I would playback fullscreen video as well), and wouldn't want to have to deal with that being in the way of something or having it disappear if I click the primary window, etc. - If I wanted to get fancier with the lower thirds, for example, could import a pre-rendered video as a "prop" that can play over everything else, or are props only shapes/text/things that you create within PP itself? - Re: video assets, if I bring in a video lower third but I want to control how long it's on the screen, is there a way to define a "loop area"... that is, start the video, then loop (or pause, but loop is preferred) between say 2s and 5s, and then only when I say, proceed to the end of the video? - Lastly, as someone used to a preview/program style cut bus, it scares the daylights out of me to click a source and it's instantly live. Is there no way to preview, or at least select and THEN "cut" to live? What if I want to edit something while something else is live? If I click it, it instantly goes live... whoo boy that is scary. I know that was a lot... you just seem to have your finger on the pulse of this and you answered most of my questions right there in the video. Your trick with formatting to a slide and then copying somewhere else so you don't have to figure out exact placement is brilliant, and your design style/sensibility is also ace. Great job with this.
@BraintrustCreative4 жыл бұрын
- There are tons of transitions available, from dips to dissolves to cuts, etc, and they can be set (and timed) on a global, presentation, or even cue level. - Props can use any transition, but yes, all props use the same transition. - The props window always floats, but you can totally drag it out to an empty space on your desktop - I only left it overplayed here for the purpose of keeping the screencast in frame. Timers, props, etc can all be spilt out and dragged wherever. I usually scale the main window down a bit to allow for all these palettes. - props can totally contain video with alpha, though do note that props can’t have timed builds within the prop. I’d do that on a regular slide layer - then you could have a base of a pre-rendered L3rd animation, type in editable text over it on that slide, and then cue that over a input or video playing on the media layers beneath. All could be timed to auto build in, etc. - At this time, there is no “loop” area - this is an oft requested feature. Though you can split your file into “build in, loop, and build out” files, and have the build in auto advance to the loop, which then can loop forever, until you cue the build out. Again - do this on the slide level, not the prop level. - Anything can be edited while something else is live - just use a right click - and choose edit. The live thing still stays live. As for previewing inputs, you can set these up on a stage display however you want - build your own multi-view. Then you can see everything before you take it live. You’d an even preview video clips in the inspector - which can play audio out to a separate monitor output - so everything can be checked before taking it live.
@BraintrustCreative4 жыл бұрын
Oh - and just in case you didn’t know - ProPresenter can be downloaded and used for free - just with a watermark on the outputs. So feel free to try it out. We often use this to build shows on other machines (with the free version) - then we have our few machines with a license for the “show” version. Again, no restrictions on the free version except an output watermark.
