Thank you for the tips! Beautiful footage! How long did it take you to do the walk on the Zimbabwe side?

I would say we did it in about two hours but if you have less time, 90 minutes is doable!

Im glad you enjoyed your time in my backyard 🇿🇲 🇿🇲 🇿🇲. Im a firm believer that if you want to see Victoria (Mosi oa Tunya) Falls youve gotta go to the Zimbabwean side but if want to feel it then go to the Zambian side!! By the way, how come you never went down to the boiling pot??

It must be a beautiful place to live! We were interested in visiting the boiling pot up close but Rebecca was 6 months pregnant at the time so we couldn't make the hike!

Beautiful video. This was taken a few days ago? I'll be visiting next week. I hope the waterfall is still running strong when I visit end of August through first week of September.

Thank you so much for the support! This video was actually filmed in May so it will definitely be a bit different now. I understand the water flow in September is lower but still think you will have your own unique and wonderful experience!

how long did it take you to walk around the full Victoria falls from both sides ?
@StNickTravels
@StNickTravels Ай бұрын
I think from entering the park on the Zimbabwe side to exiting the park on the Zambia side it was around 6 hours which includes the border crossing. we were filming but are also fast walkers. I would say it could be done in 4-5!

@@StNickTravels Thank you :) Oh wow, I thought it would take 2 hours or so, will budget more time ! Your video is really cool btw, beautiful waterfalls and love how happy you look exploring it:) - I can't wait to see it too. Also the kazi univisa info really helpful, thanks for mentioning it - will look into it ^^ (did they actually ask you for yellow fever or any other vaccinations certificates at the borders?) I'll be going in April 2025, unfortunately only for 1 night in Zimbabwe but will try to maximise the experience :)

@@pollyk4984 Awesome, you are going to have a wonderful experience! We are also ones to try and squeeze in a lot in a short amount of time so we can appreciate maximizing the opportunity! They did not ask for any vaccination or shot records from us at the border! We had them just in case though.

Thank you for sharing your experience at one of the most magnificent and awesome locations on the planet. At 16:02 of the video, you mention that the Zambian side seems so much bigger than the Zimbabwean side. That is because it is. The Zambian side is 1,218m of the total length of 1,708m Mosi-oa-Tunya Falls. Zimbabwe has over the years done a good job marketing the falls as 75% being on the Zimbawean side and only 25% being on the Zambian side and supported this by splashing the net with a lot of doctored photos and paintings of the falls. As you proved yourselves, this is a total misrepresentation of the facts and marketing ploy that worked in the past but is being debunked in this digital era. The Zimbwean side is only 490m with the falling curtain measuring about 300m in total being the Main Falls disected by the large Cataract Island on the other side of which there is the Devils Cataract measuring about 35m. Because of the scale of the falls and the fact that a good 500m or so of the Zambian side is visible on the Zimbabwe side, the view is still awesome although smaller (about 58% of the total falls). The largest single falling curtain, however, is on the Zambian side and the whole 1,218m which is actually 71% (and not 25%) is viewable from here. This is the side that will arguably leave you more awestruck, especially during peak season, and you will miss a lot if you don't visit because of the wrong marketing material. There is also the view from Livingstone Island on the Zambian side which gives you nearly 90% panaromic view of the falls. There is further the photographic trail on the Zambian side that gives you the distant views of the falls. Omitting to view any of the sides is shortchanging oneself. If you are only able to visit one side, the Zimbawean side is the best to view during the dry season between September and November as the Zambian side is as good as dry during this period. During peak season from December to August, however, you would do well to pick the Zambian side where you can better appreciate the sheer scale of the falls.
