Screen resolution is the best general indicator of the picture quality of a TV. The higher the resolution, the better the picture will look on the screen. The more pixels there are in an image, the clearer it will be.
HD Ready (minimum of 720 horizontal lines) and Full HD (minimum of 1080 horizontal lines) are two different screen resolutions.
A screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 will appear twice as sharp as resolution of 1280 x 720. Meanwhile the 'p' in 1080p and 720p stands for 'progressive scanning', which updates full frame images more quickly than traditionally interlaced content.

Let me explain in a simple way, HD Ready is a marketable term which is used for Televisions that have a native resolution of 1366x768 (some may have 1280x720 aka 720p) which support videos which are of full HD i.e 1920x1080. Remember: They support FULL HD videos but the video or image output is of the native resolution of that TV. So if you want more clarity you have to buy a Full HD TV.

+Vincent Vin Full HD TV's have a native resolution of 1920x1080. Lets make it simple: this has a better resolution and more pixel density which makes the image or video output much crispier. Its like you are having some basic scooter which can accommodate two persons but your neighbor has a top end Ducati model which can also accommodate two persons, but the basic difference here is performance where Ducati can beat your scooter on any given day, although you can't directly relate this example with screen resolutions, I just gave this example so that you can have a better idea, since you told me you could not grasp.

@Hani Siraj Its absolutely okay. It will work just fine. So let me ask you something. If you have a PS4 then I don't think so buying a mid range full HD TV would be of a big deal to you. So why don't you buy a Full HD TV and hook it to your PS4 and enjoy a better view than that of a HD ready TV. PS: I am assuming that you don't have a HD-Ready or Full HD TV. If you have a HD-ready TV, you can just hook it and play without any flaw. But if you are expecting a better video output and smoother rendering of video HD ready is not the one for you.

Viewing distance also comes into play when it comes to discerning picture quality. Subjective thing. At more than 6 feet you'd struggle to tell 1080p and 720p pictures apart. Screen size, viewing distance, and what you'll mostly be viewing.

There is virtualy no difference in real life since most of channels are still on SD and some are at 720p and very few sends something at 1080i which is more resolution then HD but picture still looks same or worse then 720p because of artifacts in 1080i. Lets not talk about 4k since that one is really virtualy identical to most us to HD.

I think most people may disagree with me but the best it ... HD ready than 4K , i tell u why 720p is a really good peak for our eyes without straining our eyes , you don’t need bigger and bright as blinking more on 4K and beyond it maybe be HDR on 4K plus but with HD ready it still goes up to 720p , 576i and 1080i which those 3 are breathtaking, closer , sharper, diamond like effect , and overall the spec is awesome, I had it for years towards a decade and I can see why it in stock new for 2020 .
